You have to farm the blueprints, materials, build them (which take days) and level them up after that. It's not even comparable to destiny 2 in which you create a character and can switch to all subclasses needing just to level up 1 character of each classes.

There is no free-roaming areas in this beta. There are no raids in this beta. There are no missions in this beta. There are no special event PvP events in this beta. Standard crucible and regular strikes were not the meat of Destiny 1.
