What's the point? I already know it's going to sell well to assure that Metroid Dread aka Metroid 5 is made for the Switch (what I really want) so since 2D Metroid isn't in trouble, there is no point in me buying yet another remake.

85-96% but why should anyone care about what gaming journalist think? just buy the game and play it for yourself and see if you like it.

I pre ordered it. But won't speculate what score it will get. Since its a handheld game and not a Prime game, I'm sure most media sites will downscore it out of principle. But the game is also getting a lot more media and hype than most 2D Metroids. So it might get a higher score than we realize.

Super Metroid and Zero Mission are anomalies, not the standard for Metroid. Metroid II was a linear, search & destroy mission and Samus Returns is more of the same.

Pretty much any item is skippable. But this let to people getting frustrated. People would miss the spider ball or space jump and get stuck in areas. You could get past spikes on a wall without a space jump, but it takes a lot more work.

But this is also what made Metroid II the most open ended and free roaming of the games. It doesn't even force you to get any beam upgrades.

Not that guy, but keep buying Amiibo stuff and eventually Nintendo will put something vital behind an amiibo. It isn't a matter of if they have done it before. Its the principle of stopping it before it does happen. People didn't buy VR Cards and didn't use the GBA link cable, so Nintendo didn't continue using it. But millions of people are buying Amiibos, so it will give them the incentive to add more amiibo only game content.

I also think Samus Returns is already a bad example of amiibo content.
