MGS2 has the best writing in the series that is relevant today and will be relevant as long as the united states remains a country. It was prophetic with the internet AND AI which can basically be replaced by Google and make complete sense. Act 3 was literally the only weak point of the game and it wasn't that bad.

MGS4 is shit only because it has the best stealth system upon its release yet you cant use it other than in Chapter 1,2 and the small navy ship at the end.

Most of the game is comprised of vehicle chasing scenes (at some points its almost like a nu-resident evil parody), boss battles and places where you are not allowed to stealth using 100% of the character/game capabilities. Like that night level where you cant use most of your stuff.

I really enjoyed the first part of the game, but then it stops being about stealth.

Finally the lack of TECHNOLOGY. Mgs3 was peak TECHNOLOGY. 4 was a letdown, and in V there isnt barely any TECHNOLOGY.

Notice how I didnt even mention the cutscenes or the plot.

It's significantly longer than MGS1 or 2. Just look at the Big Boss/Foxhound time requirements. Both 1 and 2 had to be beaten in under 3 hours, while MGS3's max time allotted was 5 hours. It has vastly more content and gameplay than any of the other games. I honestly have no idea how someone who actually played it could come to this clearly delusional and objectively wrong conclusion.

I disagree. The game's controls are virtually the same as those of MGS2, but more polished. 2 feels stiff and unresponsive by comparison.

The free camera from subsistence is perfect, and in combination with the ability to switch back and forth to top-down camera, there really is no excuse for having visual difficulties at any point in the game. I have never even heard this complaint before from any of MGS3's detractors.

I don't see how external media can lessen the quality of something that was developed and exists independent of that media. Or how that even constitutes a legitimate criticism. If MGS3 was never released and you were the only person in the world to play it, the bosses would still be the exact same. "Overhyped" isn't a quality containted within the game, and makes little sense as a critique of the game.

you have a big open area, but you are forced to follow a specific path, the one the ai npc chooses to go.

It is a shit act, like most mgs4.
The only good act is the first one, the act that plays more like what fans were expecting mgs4 to be. A stealth game set in the middle of a battlefield.

Sadly, act1 is too short and nothing like that chapter ever happens again (act 2 was acceptable, but it wasn't nearly as good as act 1 was)
