It feels like an expansion for 0 that uses most of 0s assets slapped over Yakuza 1 with a couple of new, mostly annoying additions. Stuff like bosses regenerating health, being knocked over constantly by everything, Majima Everywhere system completely ruining Majimas presence in the story of Yakuza 1 and being required to fight like 50 something times to upgrade Kiryus Dragon of Dojima fighting style or else it's just useless and not worth using for quite some time. They did add some new scenes to Nishikis story which are really cool though. Using 0s engine means it also runs at a constant 60fps from what I can see, but I haven't finished the story yet. I remember 5 having some issues in that department.

So, it's still a good game, but it has some issues here and there. If you liked Yakuza 5 or are just a fan of the series in general, you'd probably like this. If you haven't, I'd probably recommend playing 0 first because it's no doubt a better game, but you'll definitely see how much they reuse from 0 for Kiwami.
