Those fanboys are the ones who had Doom 3 as their first Doom. Most of the guys who played Doom 1&2 are too old to give a shit about NuDoom, but those who do seems to like it. It isn't too different appart from changes to the culture and medium of gaming, it's actually a pretty fair representation of what Doom 1&2 was but in the current day and age. Doom 3 was a whole other kind of beast, a slow murky horror, and dare I say almost survival, shooter which upsets those who only played Doom 3 and sees it as The Doom.
