Most of the time in older games female charas have higher speed/dex or are able to be more proficient using mana. But the recent upsurge in the "vagina is no different than penis" sentiment has caused game devs to stop that. To me it's a mental thing womenfolk are for casters/rangers/squishy DPS and menfolk are for tanking/hi hp low int builds like barbarian. Bards and skalds go either way with me, playing more towards male for skald.

Back in the 90s I used to make female CAWs in wrestling games, put them in their undies, and use moves where they pin eachother. Then I'd turn pins off do they'd stay rubbing eachother in their panties forever.
