It's GOTY for me because I'm a sonic autist who waited so long for a truly great 2d Sonic game and not just a "pretty good" to "decent" title like Advance or Rush. The fact the public actually likes it instead of doubling down on the "sonic was never good" shtick is pretty cool though.
