You already have the answer for that, the game holds your hand all the way to max level, and will hold your hand all the way to the next expansion.
Even if you fail miserably and refuses to learn how to clear shit, the game will find a way to "brute force" you to the next level/dungeon (like extremely forgiving mechanics, or nerfing the shit out of everything, so avoiding shit is pretty much pointless).

There's no queue on any server right now. Only the most congested servers have a queue after an expansion is released, or if there's some sort of unexpected problem and a subsequent mass disconnect (rare). Odin is not a small server by any means but it's nowhere near as congested as Balmung, Gilgamesh or the big JP servers.

Cerberus is probably the most balanced EU server that has a bit of everything. Louisoix and Omega are both new servers released in 2017, though. This matters a lot less since game now polls from the entire data center for your grouping needs and like other anon said newer servers have more real estate available.

One thing XIV does better than sny
other MMO I've played is the crafting system. It has a ton of depth and requires a lot of investment to gitgud.

My static and I seem to have hit a wall on o4s. ExDeaths fire 3/black hole section is really tough and it's proving difficult to figure out how to do it.

I'm a shield AST, and I try to pop Lightspeed and Star so everyone can survive Holy but even then, the fires are screwing everyone over or the misleading black hole size.

Any strat suggestions?

The way I see it, the Trial allows you to play the game for free up to level 35 while avoiding to pay for anything. If you hit 35 or otherwise want more content than the trial gives you, it sounds like you'd want to buy the base game to keep playing. Then if you finish the content in the base game or otherwise want to move further, you purchase Stormblood which includes Heavensward. But that's just me.

Problem with the game is it locks features behind story progression so it feels like you're doing nothing but fed ex deliveries for good 15 levels or so. At max level 35 and some dungeons played you should get the experience, but it's a slow start.

Just ask people to play extra safe around the black holes, they have a bigger hitbox than they look. Fires alone should be healable, but if anyone dies to a black hole they're gonna cause more deaths because the fire IIIs meant for them will go on someone else instead and that person will die to two back to back fire IIIs.

Move the boss into the middle, assign the tanks and healers letters to start at and have everyone run clockwise or counterclockwise. DPS should be in the middle attacking the boss and out of the way of the tethered players. If they are ranged and in your path around the edge, they can move or die.

If people aren't messing up the spacing and still dying to just the damage from the Fire 3 your WHM or scholar needs to put a HoT (a buffed one to be extra safe) on everyone as he's casting black hole (or late enough that it doesn't roll off until after fire 3 goes off).

I was about to spaz out on that guide until I read it. Even when only cure 2 was 100% it was still worth to farm lillies at the end of encounters and during invul phases for a quick benis. 3 lilly asylum paired with regen is FREE DPS. I can't stand seeing other WHM not managing lillies its a dps increase because you spend less time waiting for ogcd heals.

Solid MMORPG that has a story that's at times dauntingly long and can slow down so much that it feels like it's never going to end in a bad way.

FFXIV would be great if it was a single player game with the amount of story it has, but as an MMO people just want to get to that endgame. Unfortunately they blow most of the budget on story quests and the endgame sometimes feels like an afterthought that's half assed.

If you want like 3 months of story FFXIV.
If you want a voluptuous T H I C C endgame probably WoW.

That's pretty much how you do it in this game too. I'd say it's slightly better because it doesn't arbitrarily include a constant tank swap mechanic like WoW does for raid bosses so you can just chill and DPS.

I just got to moghome and want this shit to end. I have like 135 hours played and I'm nowhere near the end-game. Fucking hell by the time i get there it will be the next expansion. I don't have the time to autistically play 8+ hours a day like I could 10 years ago, I get maybe an hour a night...MAYBE. At this rate I will literally never see the end-game. I've been playing since June 28th and I'm only this far.

I'm really close to quitting. I enjoy healing groups on my scholar but when my bonuses dry up for the day I can't bring myself to do the msq anymore. I feel like I should have been done like 50 hours ago. At least when I played WoW you could burn through shit really fast and get to the current end-game from level 1 in like 2 weeks going at my pace which is totally acceptable. What I'm going through now is an awful slog.
