Dark Souls basically needs to be recoded from the ground up.
Even with DSFix it runs poorly on a GPD Win, and that's not too much weaker than the Switch is.

I mean the GPD Win can play Fallout New Vegas, DS2, and Skyrim at decent framerates, so the Switch can easily.

yes there is. Porting a game over to another console takes time, which is cost coming out of From's pocket to pay their developers (or hire new ones) to port this shit to Switch.
Now here's the biggest problem - From decides to sell their shit on PS4, XBox, and PC, right? So they have to worry about two main factors: hardware limitations, if any, and how to reduce the games per console (framerate, aliasing, etc), and button mapping - I specifically bring this up because Nintendo's last two consoles did not have the same capacity to precision with its triggers or even the same amount as buttons as an Xbox controller.
Now tell me this - the last Dark Souls game came out over a year ago. Do you really think From would spend their own time and money to port a series that's arguably at least over a year old at this point, at a price point of $60 (let's be honest it's Nintendo), to a niche market for a console that undersold the Xbox One and PS4?
Here's the other way to think about this - From could take money and time to develop another Armored Core title. Or a new IP. But instead, Switch fans want them to cater to their $300 paywall because they didn't decide to purchase the right console or PC over the last six years when Dark Souls was being released. So next time you see "From Software partnership" during Nintendo's presentation, don't fucking fall for it. Stop waiting for Nintendo to deliver on those promises.

I generally feel like I don't need more Souls games.
But a licensed product could probably be fun. Like a Pokemon-souls, or a Mario or Zelda souls game.
And incorporate enough from said franchise(s) to make it fresh and feel different.

That or just have FromSoft publish another 3D Dot Game Heroes. Because that game was excellent.
