Some roleplay servers are fine, back a few years ago I played a lot of hl2 servers, the feeling of being that oppressive setting can help, a shame that the resistant leaders are always the owners/co owners untouchable even if they walk into the nexus fully armed or the fact you have to act like a slavering whimp as a civil protection or get called edgy.

>Random usual downtown map
>Full of people running around and being dicks to each other, kids micspamming, some people trying to actually play or RP
>One big powerful group full of VIPs/admins/autismos who are all thieves and raid anything, even theater and DJ areas for the hell of it
>Said group is protected or respected by the servers upperclass, so if they do Failrp or RDM on you, no one will give a shit and they will harass you more

>Niche RP server, like Starwars, or Halo, or even SCP RP
>Very regulated and very serious and organized
>Everyone has to have a forum account and/or use teamspeak and the people who rise to power are the people who follow the server daily for several hours and have mics
>Server is event based, which leads to many hours of almost nothing happening
>Server is also heavily ranked based, and everyone has to climb a rank ladder in-order to have a bigger voice
>No fun allowed as any small exploit or non-RP thing can get you in some trouble, and only admins or high ass ranking people can really build anything

This is basicly the only thing I found good in RP, just messing up with the "mastermind" plans of the others without going in the most ass basic way like using an admin.

I still remember stealing a fortified store by managing to get into the warehouse where he had all the stuff, and while I was stealing I had to pay attention to the footsteps and dialog to know when to hide as he would enter the room and pickup whatever he needed. All while me never leaving the room. An actual heist. That shit was fun. Logged out after because I wasnt going to do shit with the stuff I stole, I just wanted to mesa up with them without using shitty griefer bullshit
