Best visual novels?
The maid routes were the best routes.

Kohaku deserved a good spanking for pulling all that shit.
What should I expect from Tsukihime? Finished FSN a year ago and thought it was pretty good (not the Fate route). Should I expect more of the same from a thematic point?

I didn't like Kohaku's route. Hisui's, in contrast, was the best.

FSN is Shirou's story. It's very protagonist driven. Tsukihime relies more on its heroines, and their conflicts. Shiki really kind of takes a backseat, despite him doing some cool stuff.

The best one just released on steam.
Make sure to get the 18+ patch though.

I really enjoyed how we saw some really psychological stuff with Shiki in Hisui's route. The guy really felt like he was going insane. Plus that ending hit like a brick to the face. I don't think Nasu has written a darker canon ending than that. The 'True End' is bleak, the 'Good End' nearly as much so. It was incredible.
Kohaku ramps up to an interesting finale, but all the problems kinda get solved off screen in a really uninteresting way.

Well she got worse than that in Hisui's route.

Hisui's had the strongest impact, admittedly, but I liked Kohaku the best as a character. Her getting a happy ending was worth it.

It might not be the most complex story, but that doesn't stop Cho Dengeki Stryker from being fun as fuck.
