Hey guy, I played Destiny for an obscene amount of time (had about a month between jobs and nothing to do). That shit isn't fun. You grind hoping for the fun. You do boring shit with your friends hoping for the fun. You beat raids then get disappointed by the retard-tier drops, hoping for the fun. Then seek the fun elsewhere because there's nothing there. It's a game that's horrifically grindy with the promise that you might have fun if you get X gun, or get to X level to beat X raid X amount of times. But none of it leads anywhere other than better ways to grind for the same boring shit as before. ONE GODDAMN RAID AGAIN.

This game would've been so fucking huge if it wasn't done by the greedy fucks of Activision. A PVE-oriented online shooter made by Bungie is a guaranteed hit. Goes obsolete after two months in which you have to keep up with the DLC (that should've been content released with the game). I bought Destiny. I played it for a very long time and enjoyed it for about 24h exactly of gameplay. Than I got bored. And before I was ever bored, I was disappointed and how limited the locations i went to were, I was disappointed by the story and character. The highest point was first when I played the first raid with some friends and remembered the roller coaster of emotions we felt from start to end (the fact that we beat it was almost a miracle considering how stupid my friends who don't usually play these types of MMO RPG).

I only came back to the game with taken King and aside from being impressed by Nathan Filions performance and taking a bit more of an active part in the story, it ended up like before, ineventual got bored and left. Didn't even care for that thing with the guy and the red virus thing, I really don't know what that was but it didn't interest me as much as Taken king did.

Overall, to end my long winded post, I'm dissapointed by this game. It felt like it was meant to be more but it never really got there. And slowing getting content that made the content more complete rather than adding to an already complete experience made me feel cheap, like I've been had. I'm not putting myself through that again with destiny 2. That's simply how it is for me.

Bungie have for the longest time massively exaggerated how much content their games have. They did the same for Destiny and every piece of DLC it got. I knew the "4x the content of Destiny" was a flat out lie, but I didn't expect the game to have less content than vanilla Destiny at launch.

The one consistent complaint everyone had about Destiny at every stage was it didn't have enough content. Seems they still haven't and probably never will fix this.

It's about time someone did something about how often video game developers/publishers flat out falsely advertise their games and lie about things. It's a fucking crime but they get to do it with impunity.

As an example, Blizzard has rolled out major patches and expansions (especially) for WoW and then opened the raid a couple weeks later for years now. They explicitly say it's so the hardcore raiders don't feel rushed to play through the other content to get the "elite competitive raiding scene that totally exists" fastest. And yes, of course, they use that time to finish the encounter tuning and shit internally/on PTR.

Holy fuck in phase 2 on the strike (after the first drop, where the circular floor explodes repeatedly) you could get into safe spots and just unload clip after clip into his head while occasionally hitting jump, ignoring all the adds. Then your two other teammates die because they've never seen the floor explosion before and just watch you dance for 30 seconds in the safe spot until they revive. Fun times but way too much boss health for not much else going on in the phase.

Destiny 1 didn't become anything close to what it should have been until like April this year. Even though the last dlc came out last September. The way they transitioned into new content always made the old content 95% redundant, even for new players. The old raids didn't even serve as a stepping stone to the newer ones. It wasn't until they made an update for all the raids to have a difficulty that drops endgame level loot that the game was anything near what people envisioned when it came out. By that time, they had basically ruined the sandbox and multiplayer with nerf after nerf.

Not to accommodate them. The way the game was before April, is that if you purchased the collection, which comes with all content, the old raids were absolutely pointless for a new player. You were paying for the old raids, but they had no functional purpose. They were just for fun, except they weren't even very fun because by the time you would get around to doing them, you would be way overpowered and it was too easy. The way the game is now is to accommodate newcomers. By the time you hit level 40, you are pretty much at a high enough light level to do the latest raid. It was basically the same as vanilla, just shifted to different content, there was no cumulative effect and thus easy for 100 hour players to be of similar strength as people who played 1000+ hours.

Yeah that's pretty much the gyst of the gameplay, minus raids which are more fun if you have 5 people to play with. And it is an MMO, it's just everything's instanced. If you look at the first game it's built extremely similar to WoW minus the persistent overworld.

Destiny pisses me off but I can't be mad at Nathan Filion. It feels like he's the only thing that tried back in 1.
