Kiwami is definitely harder than 0. Kiryu flinches and falls down a lot easier in Kiwami and enemies love to block and stop your combos instantly on Hard and above. The game definitely gets easier as you gain upgrades though, especially with Tiger Drop. Quick changing styles in Kiwami is really fun though.

I really liked 3. Some people hate it for the story which takes a while to get going since it's just dad simulator for the first few hours.

4 is more of an improvement but I couldn't play through it all the way when I had it for free on PS+. Mainly due to the fact I had just played through yakuza 1-3 and got burned out in the 3 months I had them.

My main advice for yakuza 4 and 5 is if you value your sanity do not go for completionist runs on the first playthrough. It'll literally ruin your enjoyment, Although some people like doing that which I can understand.

For Kenzan it's massive. English guides for missables and like ten tabs open with all the stuff available in each chapter, KHH's translated story walkthrough which you play alongside them while they're playing in-game, and then Japanese guides for sword upgrading, substories (This is used as a supplement to the English guide), and geisha answers. Kenzan also has a Japanese Hanafuda game where you need to know Hiragana bare minimum or you need to keep rerolling the minigame and revisiting the geishas until you get a different one. If you just want the story though you're fine with just KHH's guide.

For Ishin just use KHH's stuff mixed with SaltyYen's videos to get the gist of everything according to what people here have said.

Do the Climax Battles as soon as you beat the game. The War God Talisman keeps your Heat high and will make all Majima and arena grinding a breeze. I also highly recommend using it in conjunction with the Bear Hug move in Beast style (after an enemy attacks you while holding L1, press Circle). For enemies that can't bear hugged, just spam the neutral stance heat move with Dragon style until you get Tiger Drop.

In Kenzan said girl is like 10 years old, the story blatantly tells you she's selling herself to a brothel, then she brings you the money from selling herself to the brothel to kill yourself, then she's shown walking the streets several times, then a man molests her in the Tsuruya, then you have her saying she likes working in the brothel, there's several scenes with the proprietress of Tsuruya and Yukino telling you what the little girls are for and their purpose, several geisha and kakemawari missions involve these girls either being stalked or being treated poorly, you have the regular geishas beating on her, and the reason she doesn't go with the emperor is because she wants to work in the brothel until she's old enough for Musashi.

Now, a decent chunk of this stuff is implied, other scenes are blatantly spelled out for you, the old man trying to molest Haruka and then slapping away the old lady owner of Tsuruya is a major scene prior to Musashi chasing after the katana guy. It's not something hidden as a substory or anything, Haruka selling herself is literally one of the first scenes of the game along with Yukino wandering around with other little girls to entice men to come to the Tsuruya and the old lady talks about what the young girls are for which is fun for the older men and if I remember right some men only choose them and refuse the older women. Some of the things are played for comedy like a guy in one of the substories tries to buy a little girl's freedom so she could be with him but she doesn't care about him and likes the deal she has with the brothel instead, another one is implied to want to buy her freedom because she's getting abused, and then there's a few that are just normal geisha messengers for you.

Take this how you will, just remember today's climate with things like this, people get pissy and will start throwing things Sega's way if they even get a hint of stuff like this even if it's period accurate.

The problem with Japan is that they think anything outside Japan to the left is the western world. Curry and fried rice are western food to them despite being south asian. That said, if they were specifically talking of China and Korea (and Hong Kong, Taiwan, Singapore etc) they would very likely say "Asia". I disliked Yakuza 4.

Will I like Yakuza 0?

I enjoy beat em ups but Yakuza seemed boring as fuck. It kept interrupting gameplay constantly for shit story and cutscenes. And whenever the game let's touch actually beat people the actual combat was simple and generic.

Is 0 better than 4?

It's mainly the lock-on and how there was no way to attack behind yourself (Or there might have been in 1, but I can't remember if it was added in 2 or not, but either way it was awful because it made you come to a full stop to do it). Outside of those two things it's perfectly fine to me, but I can understand disliking the fixed camera and the loading because it does get annoying after a while.

Newcommer to series here. I played some hours of the original in anticipation to 0, and it was OK. It takes some getting used to, but it's not hard to adjust. I do prefer the combat in 0 over 1 though.

Truth be told, I did some fibbing on this so they would take it more seriously. I haven't even played any of the Yakuza games yet, but I have liked what I played when I tested these games. I have most of the games downloaded, just have to find the time to sit down and play them.

You're right, I'm starting to remember learning it and then realizing actually having it even activate was a nightmare because it didn't recognize your inputs unless you did them perfectly, and even then it made you come to a dead stop to perform it. It's not that big of a deal though since the game is playable without it and until 4 or 5 it doesn't really become as usable as it is in 6 where your combos continue off of it and you don't get cemented.
