It is possible to own consoles as well as PCs. It's also possible for people who own the original games to want them to look better, and emulation achieves that. At least until they re-release the 4K version of BotW on the FlipSwitch in twenty years.

It depends what you mean by "run well." Considering that the original console version immediately drops to 20 if it can't achieve 30, and immediately drops to 10 if it can't achieve 20, it's not like it can be said to run much worse.

With an I7-7700k and a 1080Ti, the game runs fine only after you start to build up a shader cache. You are still going to have to deal with annoying stutters every time you enter a new area, encounter a new type of enemy, use a new type of equipment, etc... I would much rather play it on the switch.

I haven't bought a switch yet mostly because the handheld mode sucks dick, dropping frames left and right and has an awful battery.
If they bring it up to 3ds tier (not a high bar by any stretch) with a revision I'll get one

Then you have manchild hands. I can't use a handheld for more than 30 minutes without getting cramps, and I'm hardly alone. Most adults consider them very uncomfortable to hold for extended periods. It's just far more comfortable playing with an ergonomic, light weight controller on a TV

As for PC, that really depends on your setup. You can setup a PC to be virtually identical to a console, outputting it to a TV, snuggling up on a couch or recliner. There are also very comfortable desk chairs.
