It's a fantastic game, but not as good as P4 or P5. None of the 3 Persona games are bad, they're all easily some of the very best JRPGs out there.

The entire fucking theme of the game is mortality. It's not edgy, it's thematic.

All the Persona summoning are thematic to the game they are in since 3.

3 = death
4 = seeing the true self
5 = societal masks

Bait. You spend half of your time in Persona 3 and 4 going through literal hallway simulators with no interactivity or anything interesting about the layouts at all and Persona 3 doesn't even have party control.

What does breaking cards have to due with seeing the true self? If anything, breaking the cards represents rejecting the thing that symbolizes their true self.

It's just a nonsensical summoming method that was chosen because it looks flashy.

When half of the game (dungeon crawling) isn't great then you don't hold much of a basis for calling them some of the best of their genres. I'd also like to add that they also suffer from abysmal pacing particularly in the case of P3 where half the game is waiting around for a full moon followed by a little bit of plot relevant exposition and then there's no villain present for 90% of the game since Takaya and Jin are absent for most of it and Nyx ins't introduced until December.

If you seriously think they're some of the best I'd love to hear why.
