ITT: casual filters

4 was easy as fuck, anon.

It is a boss that requires you to actually take advantage of binds instead of "hit it until it dies".
Seems consistent for being called "Casual filter".
Oh boy an EO thread.
I finally got around to playing 4 and either my whole party implodes on aoe attacks, or my fort/dancer dies a hero with rampart and all. The fire fox was especially frustrating, even after weakening it just now.
Any tips?

This, i got smashed to the ground till i realised shes vulnerable to binds, everything from that point was a cakewalk

I've beaten many RPGs over the years, even on their hardest possible difficulties, and yet this boss still gives me trouble.
Not really casual filter because it's the final boss and all that's left is the credits, but still. Fuck this boss. I dunno if it's poorly designed or if I just suck.
>>388890974
half the difficulty of this fight is playing one handed because Shadow peach did things to my dick
>>388891157
I think you're just shit
Now Bonetail, I had to do a glass cannon runthrough to cheese that motherfucker
>>388891157
The difficulty jump is insane between Bowser and her, so at least the first time you have no idea whether or not you're prepared.

>Use Power Lift
>Have Mario and Goombella use their multi jump skills
>Rip off half her health in one turn
>inb4 Dance Water Dance

Bonetail was easy as piss though. Literally just hooktail with more HP.

My first time playing this game was on hard, as I was lucky enough to be introduced to the game by someone who had beaten it on normal.
I gotta say, I was able to nigger my way through most of the beginning of the game, but Gold and Silver is where I hit my wall. I had to redo their fight (and the gauntlet that wore you the fuck out) for hours before I was able to beat them.
After that, the game was still challenging but smooth sailing.(except those two parts in the desert, I think it was called Mirage city. Fuck that place)

Only RPGs I've played are freakin Pokemon, and I got a couple game overs in this game, but I beat her first try, and I forgot to put Multibounce on Mario so had to use Koops and Vivian to knock her hands down, and Vivian died halfway through with no healing items to revive her, so I had to tank her charged attack with Koops' Shield Shell while letting her take half health off one of my partners, and had to save my Star Points to use Sweet Feast to recover. Despite all that I never really lost control of the fight. It was tough, but not abnormally tough for a final boss.

>tfw you'll never be gud enough to play Ys on anything higher than Normal
I beat Origin, the easiest Ys game, on hard and hated myself for it
>>388896069
I didn't have one and destroyed the game.
>>388898556
nigga what
>>388896824
the combat pisses me off for that game
And I do mean casual filter.
There's no excuse for getting game overed by this guy.
>>388895027
Same except I did the TTYD "hardmode" that makes bosses have 2x more hp but there was a glitch where each stage had 120hp.
Managed to get to the last stage but I forgot that it eats the audience and restores all his health which by that point I was screwed

I miss the layton games. I always felt so smart and got a rush of dopamine whenever I finished a puzzle on the first guess
>>388898491
Does anyone know how hard it would be to play Ys 8 on hard instead of easy? Since there are 2 separate levels higher than hard mode I figured that normal was easier than usual
>>388903114
i thought they confirmed that you wouldn't need to be connected
>>388903956
That was afterwards. The drm initially made it so offline play was unavailable.
