The point of the game is the world, and the point of view in the left is set to show off more of the landscape, so that's a point for it.
However, the part of the landscape it shows off doesn't include fucking Hyrule Castle, the end goal of the journey, while the left does.

The bright vibrant colors of the right are a better representation of the game than the darker composition on the left

Europe. Japan's cover is too abstract, they love that shit for some reason but it literally means nothing. NA cover isn't bad, but the whole "shattered glass representing fragmented personas" thing has been done to death. The European cover has a nice spread, your eyes are drawn above the logo (white type with black stroke looks a lot better on red background, as well), and they've got a very Resevoir Dogs-esque pose going on, walking towards their target.

Capcom Japan is fucking shit. I can't believe the cover with the giant-size picture of PROTAGONIST isn't the American one. Leon looks poorly shopped into the American cover, I think it's that white 2px stroke that's around him. The cover on the right does a shit job at telling you what the game is about though while elements on the left cover, such as Link having his sword drawn in a prepared manner, directly facing the untamed lands of Hyrule and Ganon convey that the game is going to be about exploring uncharted territory with danger lurking around every corner. Not to mention that it truly nails the feel of a post-apocalyptic Hyrule with its use of blue and orange, compared to the overly vivid and vibrant colors on the EU cover.

I would've mocked the birds blocking so much of your view but on second thought they're probably doing us a favor because that landscape is such blobby bland shit with practically nothing interesting on it, and instead it seems like link is the main focus. Whereas in the canon cover it's dark in the foreground, Link is turned away, and our eyes are drawn out to the world with him.
