I've beaten all seven scenarios with extensive online help so I can actually understand the combat's nuances and intricacies.

Soundtrack is a 10/10 though, Hamauzu's best work in my opinion.

The only use it has is to stop the rancher's to stop shooting at you but there is no reason to redo that quest because you had to do it in the first place to get the mask. It is quite literally useless at least the other filler masks have some sort of purpose even if it's only once.

I just started playing it again last week.

The modding part is a pain in the ass because the community have some sort of aversion to modpacks, so you have to download them one by one.

The only one that is absolutely essential is NAM since it fix the pathfinding and adds a fuckton of useful tools

Honestly in my opinion besides the minor gripes which I have learned to thoroughly ignore, I consider most Metroid games 10/10.

Super Metroid pisses me off when switching weapons but I love it so I don't care. Zero Mission is too short and has shit music at parts but it's Metroid, I don't care. Fusion may be linear but it's atmospheric and awesome, and it's Metroid. I don't care. The trilogy may be 480p jaggies on my big screen. but it's fucking Metroid.
