I just kept playing, practiced some basic combos and watched some gameplay of my characters. Now i have a 55% winquote which is fine with me.

Probably the most satisfying genre in terms of improving in skill. There is rapid feedback and the outcome is unambiguous. Watching your own replays it's very clear when you lost and what went wrong. I tried getting into SC for a while but getting better at that game was painfully tedious.

I love fighting games. I find them super exciting and comfy. Ive played a lot of the major franchises. Tekken, VF, KoF, DOA, Capcom vs, you name it, Ive probably tried it.

But Street Fighter is hands down the most retardedly unfun hard as fuck fighting game Ive played. I understand its all about skill and timing and mastery of the set lists shit, but god damn this is not fun. There are lots of reasons but the simplest way to understand it is to compare charge characters to Ryu. Ryu has the ability to walk toward you and instantly throw a fireball. Guile can't do that though, because he has to charge back for a certain amount of time before he can throw his projectile. This makes him an inherently defensive character whereas Ryu is a more versatile character who can push forward aggressively or hold back and keep you out with fireballs.

If your opponent isn't being a shit send him a message. Back when I was playing SF4 I'd send good players compliments and requests for more matches if they stomped me. Lots were surprisingly helpful, gave tips and would stick around for quite a few games. I feel like communicating with another cool player, getting rematches, playing with others in person, lessens the salt. Getting stomped by some faceless random online makes it easy to get mad.
