You start off with some basic stuff, like fireballs and sort of small zaps of energy, but when it gets crazy, it gets crazy.

The story is kind of important, sure there's side quests, and if you want to level up, better gear, more money and such, you do them. Look, overall, the NPCs are memorable because they keep saying the same thing over and over, but there's moments where the game really fucking shines.

You can wander all over the world from the very beginning, just be aware that you can and will get your shit pushed in by enemies.

Warrior with some utility skills would be GOAT in a team with sorcerors/rangers. I use Corona for tripping heavy enemies down, arc for memes and Exodus as it's warriors only defensive skill. But Warcry is also good for aggroing those living armors, to expose their back vs the casters, also pommel bash for interrupting shit fast, indomitable lash for some armor piercing attack. BUT NO FUCK YOU 3 SKILLS ONLY

I still can't pick between Sorceror and Magick archer. I suppose the deal breaker is which is more fun to play and/or tedious or hard early to mid game, before you're all maxed out and strong. I always like being a wizard and DD has some neat looking spells but agile battle archer with daggers seems more...I dunno, intended, with the climbing mechanic and everything.

Between indomitable lash, exodus slash, pommel bash, corona slash, and indomitable lunge, even that sixth slot would be mostly up for grabs between arc of deliverance and whirlwind slash. It seems weird that they designed warrior like some sort of tank when it has almost no defensive options and only gets worse at its job over time as enemies become powerful enough to tank heavy hits without being staggered, and hit hard enough back that trying to weather through their attacks becomes a bad idea if not impossible. They also need to hit confirm to continue their basic combo as well, which is just bizarre since no one else has that limitation as far as I can remember. And then they get shat on even more by hard mode raising enemy stagger limits to the point of negating the warrior's main selling point entirely. For one of the best Guts simulators around, the devs must have really fucking hated the playstyle.

Magick warrior is pretty fun though, all those extra hits on an abyssal anguished greatsword feels like a fucking chainsaw.

Every weapon is designated as either main hand or off hand, and that can't be changed. Greatswords and warhammers are main hand, so you can only have shields, magick shields, or any of the bows in your off hand.

You do need a shitload of discipline points to play an unlimited class character to its fullest though, since you still need the appropriate vocation ranks for the classes weapons are supposed to be tied to to unlock the advanced skills.

Everfall is pretty meh, but there are a few bosses in there like the Archhydra and Ur-Dragon that you can't find anywhere else. So it's worth doing a once-over just to experience the rest of the game, and get the equips you'll probably need to progress through BBI

Okay, so I'm relatively early on in the game (Level 22) and would like some input on two things:

1. When the fuck do I get equipment that outstrips this stupid fucking dress. I sort of built my pawn to be a tall warrior type and this thing is killing it but the stats are really good.

2. How would you guys recommend levelling for a "balanced" pawn? I'm sort of doing that with my Arisen, spending most of my levelling as an Assassin then later I'll add some other vocations and spend a lot of time levelling as a Sorcerer because I want to be able to switch between vocations kind of whenever I want. I want the same for my Pawn but without hybrid vocations, I dunno if it's feasible. So far, my Pawn's been a Fighter from the beginning. Any recommendations on when or how to balance that over time?

It's a DLC armour, so it's not really balanced into the game
But because it completely takes over the head-chest-legs-arms-clothingchest-clothing-legs-back slots, its stats aren't really THAT great. It does however have really good magick resistance for the amount of physical resistance it has, except early/mid you won't find many magick enemies

Any of the heavy armour sets you find at the start of the game will outclass it in terms of physical.

1. It's gonna be a while before stuff you get is better than that dress. Honestly though playing for stats is silly since pawns can be revived endlessly.

2. Just go through all the vocations to get all the augments and they'll end up balanced. When in doubt, go Strider for flat, balanced stats.

Just a reminder that end game gear will count way more towards attack stats than minmaxing ever will so don't sweat it too much.

I think it's supposed to be the dragon aspect taking control of the defeated body. All Arisen have the potential to turn into a new dragon, but Daimon/Ashe got stuck in some monstrous halfway form. Once the Ashe part is defeated, the Dragon takes over.

The "broken order" is the endless cycle of suffering, and the "truth" is that no matter what you do, the cycle goes on. It cannot be ended. It's not quite confirmed that our own Arisen truly ended the cycle by killing themselves with the Godsbane rather than finding a successor.

It's funny, I've tried getting into this game like four or five times and I keep getting to Gran Soren then petering out. For some reason this playthrough it just clicked and I'm having a blast. No idea what's different.
