Book of Memories was not a good Silent Hill game, but it was a pretty fun game in its own right.
Its canon but I think of it more as a spinoff game. Silent Hill's Persona Q equivalent.
i consider Downpour to be the last Silent Hill game.
Downpour is not as bad as people say it is.

Who? Tell me who in the fuck overrates it because it sure as hell isn't even the most hardcore of fans of 1-4. Almost all of them place 4 the lowest.

It actually was the last great game in the series and not just because it was the last one in the main series developed by the japs. The game actually had a much more coherent story that actually tied in well with the games before it. Something the western SH developers never got right. Plus SH4 has one of the best monster designs in all of video games.

It isn't perfect. Far from it. If within the series SH 1-3 are at least a 9/10 then I would say SH4 is probably at least a 6-7 out of 10. The other games are absolutely lower than 4. If 4 didn't have the repeated levels and it had better item management it could easily be an 8/10 game.

It looked pretty good to me. I feel that 3rd person over the shoulder camera is so overused in games but for this one I felt it looked good for it. They had some sort of weird time traveling to the future though right? They should have just kept it fantasy themed rather than copy AC games with the story. Then I also remember seeing it was supposedly going F2P. They really should have just simplified their goals for the game.

Last update from the devs was march this year, the game has 2 routes and they said that one of them doesn't feel as strong as the other and that they would work on the second route for a month or two, but since then they haven't say anything.
The game is almost finished, it would really suck at this point if they didn't release it.
