Alt Milla was severely mishandled as a character, even girl Tales fans I knew online didn't like her. They build her up with some really interesting (and kinda horrifying) implications about shattering fractured dimensions and whether they had the right to decide which universe was the "original" anymore, and then flub alt-milla's arc and literally, LITERALLY throw her away to pull OG Milla out instead. it's cosmically a bit fucked up to be honest and not well written at all.

the game is good don't get me wrong, in the grand scheme of things alt-milla isn't that important, just kind of this fucked-up "i shouldn't exist" character who has to deal with the undoubtedly unsettling sensation of being in a universe that belongs to another version of yourself with friends and loved ones you've never met.

but they don't really go anywhere with that. X2 is just a bunch of fun little "what-if" universes you can peek in on and see how characters would have matured if their lives had been a bit different, and the last one is for ludger and elle.

well from the perspective of the fractured dimensions their world was the source world and all others were the anomalies, to them. that's sort of the quandary the AIs put to Ludger, that his gang were not the first border-hoppers. it can really throw your perspective on how your universe works if you start to wonder whether your own universe is a fracture or the mirror the fracture is from.
