I think it was the hammer home the point that possessing the Wild Card isn't automatic God mode. Akechi had a massive advantage over Joker (got his powers much earlier, and was working with a large government conspiracy vs some high school students with chips on their shoulders), yet STILL died like a bitch pursuing a retarded revenge plan.

What Gen Z? I liked P5, but it has plenty of slow moments and the plot near the end feels a lot like P3's. On top of that, some characters are under utilized, like Haru, and others are all very formulaic: i.e. "Oh no, someone is a bit of a shithead to me, I'm being mistreated if only the Phantom Thieves would solve my problem" which ultimately feels stupidly repetitive after doing like a dozen of them
