Never has a game made me quit solely because of how awful the weapon feel is

Half Life 1's weapons were unsatisfying as hell to use, too.

BASED Randy's HD pack fixed this issue though.

what was that PS2 "halo killer" with the space nazis in gas masks? Ive never played a game with weaker feeling weapons than that. The grenades where like throwing fucking rubber ducks. Theyd explode with a small feminine "plompf" at the enemies feet, and theyd just shake the dust off and keep shooting.

For the most part whether a gun feels "good" or not is if it kills in one hit or not. Unless there is feedback like knockback or such. So most pistols, smgs, and any other rapid fire weapon will feel bad.

They experimented with weight, something no other shooter did, they did that better with 2 onwards, but that's all they improved. Wasn't until shadow fall that they made another good killzone, and they swiftly killed the MP for that game by adding loot crates post launch.

Grenades killed multiple enemies if you actually threw them at them, if you could aim for shit you'd know that headshots did more damage and shooting a heavily armoured enemy in the armour isn't gonna do shit. Not to mention the outrageously overpowered weapons the game was known for like the chaingun with rocket launcher attachment, the SMG that acted like a sniper when zoomed, and the squad cannon. Maybe you should actually play the game and get good before you come here and shitpost.

I can agree with that. Killzone definitely felt weighty, they just went way, way, way overboard. There's no reason that every time you swap weapons the character needed to rerack a round in every single gun every time. The mag reloads were cool but took way too long. I guess they never consulted an actual marine or something to learn about speed reloads. Every gun took forever to get shooting.
