yuck
crafting is a memechanic that needs to be banned from all games, just like weapon durability
>crafting system
>nothing like Minecraft
>just another TLoU/Far Cry """crafting""" wannabe

what eceleb invented that one?
Anyone agree with me here?
Good crafting system.
simple and requires a small amount of components to make something, see minecraft.
Horrible crafting system
craftable items require a large amount of items, like 20 pieces of iron, etc. often times these games are very grindy.
>crafting is literally the only way to get any weapons/armor worth using
>>388854776
Yes indeed anonsky, that is true
>>388854304
>Not knowing the great feeling of finally getting that one part to craft that weapon or piece of armor you've had your eyes on
>>388854569
Maybe you should take better care of your weapons then.

Casual.
>exploring the early game
>you already start picking up components that you assuredly will have to craft with later
>>388854776
>need over 100 of a certain item to finish the building
>you can only carry 2 at once
>crafting an armor upgrade requires a boss drop that has a 2-3% chance of occuring
>upgrading all armor in a set requires multiple

Honestly, crafting as a concept is something that I like, but I've never seen it implemented in a way that felt right. Same thing with all inventory systems -- I like the idea of storing items for later use, but every single inventory implementation I've seen is clumsy and takes you out of the game while you interact with it.
>crafting system
>need a million different items to craft one item
>inventory space is limited
>>388854304
what's the difference between a crafting system and a crafting system urgh
>>388855025
This. Also it works as a method to keep you invested.
>deck-building mechanicAdmittedly MMBN is a good game in spite of it, mostly since the actual gameplay is set in real time.
If you like endlessly grinding for something to craft a single piece of armour you are most likely autistic. No way around that.
What games have crafting systems you enjoy?

Monster Hunter
Dying Light

>need to discover recipes first through tedious quests or scavenging

Hey, fuck you, it wasfun

Terraria since its fairly simple and the guide provides all the recipes
>game has grindy crafting system
>the combat is so fun you actually don't mind
