Combat is deep with tap circle to attack combos and move lstick while doing so for directional inputs as well as aerial combat and on the fly weapon switching from the dpad, warp strike on triangle with unique warpstrike for every weapon, party techs the l1 dpad, armiger, parries and counter attacks etc, every other FF lets you hold the confirm button to auto input the command, and better enemies/bosses than any KH/DMC
The world is bigger and more full than any other FF and has less invisible walls than them too.
Story can be enjoyed without any external media, just like all the other FFs with things like anime, manga, drama CD, novels, spinoffs etc.
Things happening offscreen is not a valid complaint when the entire point is that Noctis is left in the dark and you learn about the things from the perspective of an actual person who wasn't at the place when the thing happened which is perfectly valid.
Sidequests are the same exact thing as FF1-9s sidequests are with optional dungeons and bosses, find x item for y reward, minigames etc
Car is the same thing as any other incremental mode of transportation in any other FF like the hovercraft in 4 or buggy in 7, chocobos let you go off road and offroad driving is being added in an update.

60 FPS isn't going to fix Noctis deciding to do whatever attack animation he wants to for the direction you're holding down, stumbling and dancing around with weapons and unable to cancel the animation in most cases while overly-animated in a way that destroys any real combo flow or smooth movement. That and the fucking post-battle pauses where you always lose control for a couple seconds so Noctis can do some victory animation.

Airsteps and warp spam are just stop gap bandaid solutions ontop of a gaping head wound, and don't really have any contribution to fluidity either. Weapon switching is stilted and clunky, and far from any sort of real variety since most of the time it's really just better to stick to a weapon type the enemy's weak to unless you're so strong that you can chain the best sword and daggers together endlessly with airsteps. And at that point it's superfluous to even consider that an actual positive.

I know consoles aren't powerhouses, but they really had the wrong priorities with xv. They should've sused way lower polygon moedls and better textures instead. Basicly the whole concept of shit like FOX engine or Frostbyte.
I really hope they won't continue like this, either drop the engine or try to actually create a game that scales well.
XV is just way too inconsitent that it overall doesn't look that good. I don't get why they can't even do simple conepts like using lower poly models for gameplay and maybe have more than 2 LOD levels, in XV it's either not rendered at all, super low poly when you can barely see it or the full poly model.

They marketed this game with "m-muh graphics" before its release and then it was downgraded to a point it looked incredibly bland. Low poly objects, muddy textures, almost no shaders, no tesselation. The story was so wholly medicore and delivered badly that nobody gave a shit after a few hours and as visuals were heavily downgraded it didn't impress anyone in that regard either.
The only verdict everyone came to was "combat wasn't as shit as in FF XIII" but that means very little when there were many older FF games with a better combat system altogether - most of them also looked more impressive for their time.

Now they're doing the same "m-muh graphics" marketing bullshit again for the PC release but it won't change the fact that the game itself is just not great. You shouldn't pay more than 20-30$ for this. There are too many medicore RPGs on Steam and you can play any of them to get the same experience.

See this is how I know you didn't play it because you have manual TPS with the right side weapon slot for SMG, sniper rifle and bazooka, while the top weapon slot was action shooting like how Noctis shoots, the left weapon slot was the melee baton and the bottom weapon slot was the grenade. And the TPS stuff isn't "stiff" at all, and the area in ep Prompto is objectively more open than the dungeon in ep Gladio was, with you being able to do some monster hunts in it. I don't know why you are so triggered about a turret section, when you can just chalk up it having unlimited ammo to Ardyn setting that up, the handgun he gave Prompto had unlimited ammo too.
