Try to find HRX tournament. It was so amazing it almost felt scripted. We had off meta champions do good, arrogant top dogs beaten by underdogs, a meme developer match. And the final match was won tanks to a team adapting to Opposing teams strategy.

That was also when Paladins had more viewers than Ow for some time.

Because Hi-rez invest into Esport development and allows competition to develop independantly from them. Their dev team try to make the spectator tools better. They try to make each character and ability visible to it's not a clusterfuck of pretty particle. They try to make the camera better as the game development goes on. They're not doing the Blizzard "OW League is going to be bigger than NFL!" thing infront of their buyers.

In traditional sports such as Football, you have a set angled camera covering the whole match, with action taking place primarily on the X-Y 2D plane.

With overwatch, stuff flies and people shoot up and down in a 3D enviroment, making it disorienting. Not to mention Blizzard likes making things flashy.

Compared to overwatch? Yeah, Paladins is absolutely balanced. Most character are viable, the only 2 really useless serve-no-purpose except die after killing 1 enemy are Skye (the stealth character with invisibility) and Maeve (the mobile character). The last character they introduced, strix, is a sniper that can only quickscope, he's an OP as fuck bitch thought.

Everything about Overwatch is boring, and there is hardly any skill involved. Play for 10 hours and you've experienced literally everything there is to see. Pretty much everything from a professional match you've already done, even if not on purpose.
Things like Dota 2 are popular because there are literally 100+ characters to play with plenty of unique builds per character. Overwatch has around 20 characters with a single weapon, 1-2 abilities, and an ultimate. Whether or not you like Dota is up to you, but it provides variety instead of OW "stand in corridor and shoot bullet at shields"

i fucking hate mirror match, in every single game, i hate playing against someone who has the exact same kit as my character. I cannot enjoy it. Paladins large roster allows for better meta, ever evolving meta, i love it, it's flexible enough. We're in some sort of tank meta tho, but atleast it's counterable with a not tank meta comp. This is great.

It's less of "we're in tank meta" and more of a "flanks are out of style". The standard comp right now is 2 tanks, 1 blaster, 1 hitscanner and 1 support, which is your run-of-the-mill balanced composition.

Can open on you with 1300 damage from stealth, can shoot a flare to monitor an area for enemy activity aka. flanking and adapt before the enemy reaches him, and in the worst case a flanker does reach him without getting blown up by the aforementioned 1300 (or even more if it's a lucky headshot) out of thin air, he can whip out his Luger and pump you full of 250 every 0.2 seconds. 99% of flankers can, at most, annoy him, but cannot hope to kill him.
