Itll be 2 years tomorrow. Can you still feel it?
Maybe just this once we can reminisce of simpler times and have one last ruse cruise thread?

>2 years since I played a game so disappointing, it stopped me for ever being able to deeply enjoy a video game again.
Time flies, huh.
>>388829241
The ruse cruise is still ongoing.
>>388829446
It wasn't quite that bad for me. It only killed my ability to enjoy Metal Gear games. I'd marathon the series at least once a year and now I just don't.
This game made me hate video games. Haven't liked any game I played since I played it.
>>388831624
>This game made me hate video games
Aren't you grateful? You are finally free. All we need now is that guild wars 2 gay furry to destroy this site the same way he killed /gw2g/.
you can tell exactly when they stopped giving kojima more money for this game. kojima is the japanese schafer
This game was terrible and I never finished it but it didn't kill my love for metal gear or video games in general
Peace Walker is way worse

WHY THE FUCK DID KONAMI PORTED MGS 2 FOR NVIDIA SHIELD INSTEAD OF PC?
Reasons why porting to shield is a wast of resources:
1. Shield is a very niche system, it doesn't has player base as big as steam
2. Shield doesn't have any mgs games. So no mgs fanbase there is almost nonexistent.
3. People who bought Shield are mostly "mobile gamers" who don't like to pay for single player game games and root their devices to run pirate copy or spend money only on mobile gacha shit.
Reasons why porting to pc is a profitable decision:
1. ~1.5m people bought mgsv on steam. Thousands replies on mgsv forums begging for ports of other game. There is a decent user base that's ready to give you money. Let's say porting costs around 100k$ to 1m$. Reasonable price tag is a 30$ for port of HD collection. Mgs is a big brand, even port of a 15 years old game with mgs tag slapped on could sell at least 500k copies(a shitty port of ff7 sold almost 2m copies, mgs can do it too). That's 15m$ profit.
2. While porting to pc you have to make the game work in a x86-64 cpu architecture. Ps4 and Xbone use same hardware design, so it will be extremely easy to port the games for consoles too for even more money.

NVIDIA did the port, not konami.
I think they'll eventually port the other games to steam.

I quit playing videogames for almost 5 months because MGSV was so fucking disappointing, I stopped playing after the rehash missions and to this moment I've never touched it again. Then I played dark souls and it gave me hope again, fuck you cuckjima

it's not a bad thing Kojima didn't spend the story navel-gazing at a lore that was never presented as consistent. please reconsider your life

The only "ruse" there has ever been is this nuke shit. It's literally been confirmed chapter 3 comes after nuclear disarmament. No PT, no Silent Hills, no Death Stranding.
The only problem is that the nuke mechanics are fucked beyond saving.
>>388844368

I'm still mad
I deleted my save and started fresh not too long ago and it reinvigorated my enjoyment of the game up until I hit chapter 2 and I'm back to not really enjoying it all that much anymore. Everything I want to develope requires like two or three different staff types or whatever to be like 16 levels higher than they already are and I find my self extracting soldier after soldier and it barely makes a dent.
Finding gunsmiths for whatever weapon type you're aiming for helps, but not by much from what I've seen.
F
Did Caramel pubically apologise yet?
>>388845120
Yes but he still acts like a faggot. He is shunned. Do not reply to him.
BIRDS
>>388845035
Replaying chapter 1 from scratch is the only enjoyment I can get from MGSV besides GZ. I don't see the appeal in any of the endgame FOB shit.
Also I gotta say I really fucking hate the Demon Snake mechanic. Making like 90% of the weapons in-game lethal and punishing you for using them is beyond retarded. It's not hard to get rid of, but the fact that it's there at all annoys the shit out of me.
>>388845403
>I don't see the appeal in any of the endgame FOB shit.
It's where all the hard sneaking shit is and it's something to do after the story's done
>>388829241
>2 years

>>388833539
>No MGS : The Joy of Battle about playing as the Boss in WW2 killing magical nazis
>>388845554
Unless you want to extract decent staff members that is. You can knock them out, but it's not nearly as reliable and is risky more often than not.
>>388845596
It hurts to live
>>388841891
she was in portable ops...
The game was alright it was really comfy for me. I was more disappointed for the multiplayer though, they said that they learned a lot from PW and the only multiplayer aspect that we got was people stealing your shit. MGO was allright, Cloack and Dagger was my favorite mode. Then all of sudden I got sick and I had to be absent for a week, when I came back the only mode that was alive was the shitty COD one. Since they are making tournaments for the PS4 version I'm thinking of trying to revive it with a Steam group or something.
>>388845475
As long as you're fultoning dudes and animals it should balance out most moderately lethal playstyles. I did a shit load of killing and never saw Demon Snake until I developed a nuke.
>>388845796
>Unless you want to extract decent staff members that is.
uh, no. That's better served with online deployments
>>388845815
I'm in for the steam group
>>388846727
In the late game, sure but you're gonna be extracting most of your staff yourself until you reach a point where your combat unit is good enough to take those on.
>>388838701
Wait a minute, that kid...
>>388845120
I'm pretty sure he offed himself
MGS has never been all that amazing, they've two hour games when you take out the cutscenes which is excused because they're mostly cinematic experiences packed with tiny details. That's what Kojima has become known for, a man with an eye for detail, while also being a clumsy storyteller. The stories are pretentious as fuck with as much subtlety as a baseball bat, people only enjoy them because of the stylish TACTIONAL ESPIONAGE ACTION peppered throughout. The problem with MGSV is that it's missing that eye for detail, so while it retains the clumsy storytelling it ends up being a fairly substandard open world action game. Reflex mode, marking, and regenerating health only add insult to injury, and though it controls excellently, literally any AAA developer could make a better open world stealth game if they tried and nothing would be lost, since MGSV is lacking that distinct Kojima element in its gameplay.
>>388844368
How do you even get nuclear equipped FOB targets to show up.
>>388847962
MOMMY
>>388844368
it's rigged anon
I recently started a fresh save of this game to see if it's as bad as everyone memeing about it says.
The game is enjoyable up until maybe mission 6. Everything after that feels like a drag - half the time is spent traversing the boring open world, and infiltrating is such a joke in most areas. Nearly every enemy base looks exactly the same and can be dealt with in the same way, and there are so few interesting enemy bases. It would've been way better to have the game consist of a few Camp Omega like areas, instead of these vast open worlds that are more than half empty. The mission variety sucks, every mission feels exactly the same. You have to watch a stupid helicopter cutscene for at least 2 minutes at the beginning of every mission.
This game has such solid mechanics, and can be really fun in the few well-designed areas. What a shame it turned out the way it did.
>>388845486
hard, but not fun. Its also artificially hard, since the struts are all a square flat plane that feature 3 to 5 industrial textured blocks. Im not sneaking, im racing and exploiting to get to the next strut before the guards spawn in.
>>388848283
Keep checking.
>>388838412
