Why does this exist? Like what the actual fuck. No one likes Gintama for the battle shonen elements. They like it for the comedy which won't transfer to a fucking musou. So many other SJ properties would make more sense.

Gintama has some of the best action/series moments ever. And all the comedy makes you appreciate and grow attached to the characters more and more.

Fate has Extella, The Fire Emblem game was in the works before the poll even happened, some of the All-stars characters were selected as a result of the poll, and now Gimtama has this. Final Fantasy will never happen as long as Dissidia sells.
Tales probably not, unless they try another in-house experiment like VS.
Atelier getting a dedicated musou seems unlikely since KT only likes throwing their own characters into crossovers.
Kancolle's popularity has already sank and missed the boat.
Persona will evetually have a spinoff of every genre.
Precure is at the top of never ever tier. Toei will never acknowledge there are fans who aren't little girls.
Fairy Tail is over. It might get something to promote the final season of the anime, but it will be budget shit and not by Koei
Tokyo Ghoul was flavor of the month when the poll ran. If it didn't get something already it never will.
Kingdom already has a shitty musou clone on PSP.

When does Gintama get good?

I've hear some people saying that the first 54 episodes are underwhelming and then it gets better, but I can't honestly get past episode 10, the jokes are shit and the characters boring.

Does it really get better by that point?

I watched it years ago and people back then were saying it's just the first 20 episodes that are weak and then it gets much better. Dropped it at 45.

The first season it's a little over the place.
If you want a serious arc just watch the Benizakura arc or movie.
