Not really. Out of those games (on top, bottom ones are 2018/2019) Zelda BotW, Splatoon2, Mario Odyssey and Xeno2 are the truly good ones. (well, let's see if Xeno2 is a hit or a miss, MonoliftSoft aren't exactly the most consistent devs)

Of course no one should be counting indies like SnipperClips, who still remembers Resogun? It was a very good PS4 launch indie exclusive but it's only relevant in the moment, not something worthy of an image collage like this.
Games like MK8 or PokkenDX are as stupid to include as Last of Us's port on PS4. They are WiiU games ported a year later on the new console.

What that image doesn't show is the nearly absolute lack of 3rd parties. It's true that Switch has the best exclusive launch roster of 8th and 7th gen for sure, but outside of those there barely is anything else to play. How many people will be waiting for months in a row until Mario Odyssey comes out? What if you absolutely hate Rabbids and can't stand to buy that game despite being good? What if you didn't care about Splatoon2? You had to wait 8+ months between Zelda and Mario Odyssey. You are pretty much forced to be a fan of every single release otherwise you'll face a lot of droughts and dead time. You really can't be selective.

So in truth, the overall best 1st year still belongs to PS1. The perfect mix 1st and 3rd parties

They all play wildly differently, so I don't see much of a problem there. I suppose one might get tired of looking at that red and blue italian, but the none mainline titles there also have a bunch of other characters too.

Ehh, I was really uninterested by the console (and primarily due to the whole paid online thing), but it's getting games left and right.

I remember trying to get people excited about it, it just seems Snipperclips strikes a cord more with people. One guy I new was a day one PS4 owner and he didn't even know what game it was.

Been the Rabbids game for a while now and got it off the recommendation of /v/ saying it was good. This is my first experience of playing a Nintendo game that was actually fucking garbage, why the fuck is this getting a pass this is actually just fucking shit. For an "xcom" game it is way too easy and theres almost no consequence for failure or making a bad move, and the only thing that seems to be holding it up is that its fucking Mario, but this is offset by the rabbit Minions. If this wasnt Mario it would be getting slammed.

Also Splatoon 2 was pretty much the exactly same game as the first but with the addition of Salmon Run, a new game mode, if they pull that shit again and people eat it up again I am fully convinced that Nitnendo fanboys are fucking retarded.

Pokken is and was litterally designed around being a compeittive fighting game and has all the same mechanics and systems as other ones. It has as much in common with SF, MK, etc do with each other, and it was developed by the same team that made the tekken games (even though Pokken is a traditional 2d fighter like SF and MK, vs a plane based 3d fighter like tekken).

The developers themselves even into the competitive side of it, during the E3 invatational when one of them went up against a professional player, the dev knew optimal charizard combos and setups.

You buy a 2500$ pc for when you are at home, and then you buy a switch with an unlimited 4g lte Hotspot cell phone plan in case you aren't at home. Anything else and you are literally a hobo and need to re think why you haven't killed yourself yet.
