No, it trivializes most levels but bosses can see you no matter what. That said, if you are nosferatu you can either use potence or animalism lvl 2 to easily dispatch bosses in combination with melee. As malkavian you should be using ranged with auspex.

It's not very complex and is floaty, but it's hardly shit.

Going full Kiritsugu with Celerity and guns was extremely satisfying.
Full stealth Malk and blood mage Tremere too.
Melee combat is shit, however, mostly because it forces you into a janky-ass 3rd person.

Bloodlust Shadowhunter was inspired by VtMB and you can tell while playing it. It's more a dungeon crawler RPG though, and it has a few flaws, but I've played it more than once and enjoyed it.

It'd be hard to justify hubs in a medieval game, especially when the PnP put a lot of emphasis on how difficult traveling was back then and expected that to be a roleplaying adventure all by itself. The problem is that, besides other obvious problems with open-world, the basic idea of being scared of but also tempted by leaving the roads doesn't apply anymore. Everyone knows the good stuff will be hidden in the forest and you can't make skill tests for video games like you can in PnP.
