It's OK in its own right but the Battlefield games are dead.
Tripwire is trying to revive the old school BF gameplay with Rising Storm 1 and 2, but no one's playing those games because there's fuck all content yet and half the players don't know how to carry out objectives or work as a team.

Launch was a catastrophe, but they patched it and it got good amounts of content. Certainly one of the better Battlefield games.

My only niggle with it is that those all-class weapons like carbines and DMRs are perhaps a bit too good, which takes away from the class diversity and makes engineers a bit too flexible choice.

Still play it almost daily, once they (finally) sorted out the bugs and netcode it was probably the second best in the series after BF2. BF1 was a steaming pile in comparison.

Most of the maps suck. Well I'm not sure if it's the maps sucking or the absurd spawn options killing any point to point flow on a lot of the maps. Also DICE doesn't understand the concept of protected spawns or not letting you shoot into the other team's spawn.

Did they ever fire the guy whose artistic vision for the Battlefield series was that there was no such thing as any color that lacked a shade of blue and everything gave off lens flare? Playing BF3 made me physically ill after a while. Then those color injection mods got popular, then I got banned by DICE for using it. Never bought one of their shitty products since.

My guess is either cartel themed if they go modern since that setting isn't explored much or some conflict in the 80s or early 90s since there's a ton of iconic weaponry in that era and not many games set then have come out lately.

My biggest gripe is that since they released some of the best maps remakes in BF3 (Sharqui peninsula etc), they didn't follow up and re-added them back up in BF4.

My favorite shooter of all time. Nothing beats the gameplay. I have 900 hours in PC version and 200 on Xbox 1. I try playing other games but anytime I am, I just wish I was playing BF4. I play hardcore servers exclusively, I can't stand normal servers. It is rare that I don't come in 1st place.

I really like the navel maps, if there are still servers for them (that aren't dead) I'd probably reinstall the game.

It was fun for a while, but my hatred for things like AA campers, snipers, IR scope users ruined it. I thought BF1 would be better because it seemed like there should be less overpowered ways for bad people to cheese, but amazingly, SMGs ended up being even more cancerous than anything in BF4. I'm just not cut out for modern gaming which almost always focuses on muh rock/paper/scissor garbage instead of skill.

I have been bothered with how helicopters and airplanes don't handle the same PERFECT way they did in BF2 ever since Dice moved on. It feels restricted.

I legitimately consider it one of the best shooters of all time. It's unfortunate that there's shit like battlelog and the file size holding it back but when you get into it, it's just phenomenal. It was also pretty fun to follow the game with its patches / dlc launches. I think I've got over 500 hours in the game and I could probably squeeze a couple hundred more out if I really wanted to.

AA campers are justified due to the cancer that is Littlebird mains. The damage that thing puts out compared to how fast it moves and how many hits it takes to down is straight fucked. I play on PS3. the game is amazing now, but I remember the constant freezes on launch days.
Oddly, BF3 was a more polished game on consoles, and it's still looks better than 4 at certain points. as a port, BF4 was pretty mediocre.

First i was sad that nothing will be as good a shooter as bfbc2
I played it and i was not too good. Vehicle faggots ruined it and people shot at doritos. People took whole mags to kill.

Then i took the Hardcore pill and right now its the most rewarding, skillbased shooter experience there is. Nothing comes close. Vehicles are a nuisance but dedicated ppl can kill them, but then you get a inf only Server and Its just a matter of pure game sense and skill between squads from that point on.

I was so damn disapointed in the BF1 reveal. I literally just wanted BF4 with better graphics and more maps which would be called BF5. I said I would give it a chance and regret it so much. It feels so weird to miss something that was absolutely horrible.

First BF I played and it is still very fun. I don't use any vehicles but it is very fun. Love the AK-12 and the L8A something its another assault rifle. I don't even have a 1kd on this or Hardline or 1 but I still have fun.I hope one day I can reach one. Also conquest all day everyday, I might go to TDM but that rares its always conquest don't care about the other modes.

yeah, BF1 lacks the overlap between weapons/vehicles, snipers are uncontested in their range, assaulters are uncontested in their range, tanks are no longer in danger of being destroyed by a single ennemy like in bf3/4 where you could solo a tank provided you knew how to lure it, and no more weapon variety, no more engeneer with an RPG and a dmr that could take a dump on snipers and vehicles alike, no more carabine recon to plant a spawn beacon behind the lines, now you can only play the designated role of your class.

BF1 is not a battlefield game, its shallow, it lacks content, it introduced skins which will inevitably make their way in the next """Battlefield""" game and will be the reason we wont get as many weapons as in 3/4, say goodbye to BF4 and hello to CS:GO....
