Dracula X is better imo. Rondo felt pretty dull to me.

That makes sense, and I can see a logic to them wanting to make the player feel "uneasy" for the battle ahead, maybe. But still, it just rubs me the wrong way and it's up there with "Finale Toccata plays EVERYWHERE" in Castlevania musical blunders to me.

Meh, I think it's okay. Not the best, but it's alright. It's just everything else is so fucking good by comparison. This game is awesome though, I still love running through it.

Aria is pretty kino as well:

>section of the comfy Inner Quarters where you go outside into the storm and there's no music, just the swirling vortex
>Chapel is pretty much blown apart in it's higher areas, leaving the devastation of the 1999 battle to the imagination
>the bizarre Floating Garden, with a gorgeous colour choice and rooms all around the map
>the Clock Tower, just like in most games
