I like Fate, but I personally found Extella trashy outside of the gameplay. However, I find Fate to be pretty trashy overall these days. Fate GO is just waifu slot-machines and Apocrypha to be bad.

I wish there was less focus on waifus and other servants had campaigns like Archer.

Like, I get it, TM was always a company rooted in fanservice, and, in some cases, outright porn.

But there were moments in things like Tsukihime, Kagetsu, FSN, and FHA, that were genuinely very compelling. The end of Hisui's route. The Archer fight.

I was gonna bring up FHA's ending, but that's been completely stomped on now. Its entire purpose was about letting go of these characters you've grown to love, and move on with your life. You had a good VN. You got a sequel. Enjoy that.

But no. Fucking look at where we're at.

to be honest it's as simple as looking at UBW and F/Z and asking if those would have been improved with roughly twenty times as many characters involved. it's impossible to have any story or give characters any arcs or development now because they are Just. Too. Many. It's become an even more prominent lampshade at this point that there are like eight fucking seibas of a variety of classes and none of them seem to act alike or even hold the same ideals. Yet they are all, at their core, spinoffs of Seiba herself who is at this point the least interesting person in all of fate lore.
