Mostly depends on what you want from an MMO. If you want a well polished themepark MMO with a bigger focus on story than most with the story going between "just skip it" and "solid fucking gold" with little inbetween then you might like it. A lot of the draw comes from the whole "I wanna ride a goddamn chocobo and kill cactaurs and tonberry's and shit with some buddies" thing that fans of the series want, but it's by no means inaccessible to someone who hasn't played FF before. Actually, if you've never played any FF game a lot of the monster designs might seem really novel.

I'm sorry anon, but queues are terrible for DPS no matter where you look. If the only job you have at 50 is PLD and you want to try out DRG, just level DRG to 50 in Palace of the Dead then level both jobs together during Heavensward/Stormblood. There'll be enough EXP to level both to cap.

Because nothing WHM can do outweighs contribution of party buffs in an 8-man party. High personal DPS will simply never be as effective as stacking all the multiplications you can in that scenario and for some reason Yoshi refuses to give WHM anything like Bravery or Faith despite those being staple white magic FF spells.

Perhaps if you were a wood league shitter, it might seem that healers were immortal back then. But you fail to realize that DPS CC and burst were absolutely insane. Top that with damage being able to interrupt healing, and you have a recipe for disaster.

Removing crits and that god-awful interrupt from damage was a step in the right direction. Killing a healer now requires a coordinated effort instead of simply stunning them and blowing them up.

What are you having trouble with, and what level are you at?
It's all a matter of rhythm. Rotations are essentially very simple, but mechanics, aoes, and your environment in general will try to fuck you up. Overcoming these obstacles is mostly a matter of practice and a little bit of planning ahead, so doing a dungeon or trial for the first time will usually be a little troublesome until you get used to it and can adapt.

Learn a decent place to put ley lines, figure out a good point on your mana bar to switch from fire to ice without losing any spell uptime, abuse the shit out of swiftcast and don't forget that scathe exists whenever you have to be on the move. Depends on how you look at it, I suppose. In most situations I cast my thunder procs ASAP to get the damage off. If it happens to proc again while you're holding onto one it's basically wasted damage, so I prefer to throw it as soon as I can. You get FREE damage at the cost of one measly GCD, so there's hardly a reason to not throw it out if it procs. A good way to think is that if you don't throw a proc for a few seconds, and it procs again, you have essentially wasted half of the damage you could have gotten from said procs.

Healers are fucking dumb in SB. It takes 3-4 gcd for any dps to even match ONE fucking heal spell. DPS have no CC or even any fucking burst anymore. Hell even the CC that DOES exist with tanks is so bad it's not going to matter. A 3s(now 2s for pld) stun is the length of a gcd. That ain't shit. The only thing that can kill a healer is literally overwhelming them. But wait, there's 2 healers and now they can't die.
