Different anon here. You could try Ys I&II Chronicles for the bump combat but it's an entirely different beast with a greater focus on simplified combat and labyrinthine level design. It'll feel antiquated compared to Oath style but it has its fans, I personally like it more than party system Ys. Maybe branch out to Falcom's other series like Brandish or Xanadu as well? I've played Brandish the Dark Revenant and some of Xanadu Next personally and they're definitely slower but also good.

I find it extremely strange that Celceta isn't on the PC by now. PC ports of Vita games seem to be cheap as fuck and lightning fast nowadays with whatever tools the industry has access to that they can do that with, and I think Celceta would do pretty nicely on the PC since it's a pretty competent ARPG even if you're not an Ysfag.

Actually I got introduced to the series with Celceta (though I'm still more of a Trails/Kisekifag), so if you want this series to live on, it'd be great to port over that excellent jumping-in-point.

I do hope they give the script another pass or two in QC, while the script generally felt good to me, there were a lot of typos and stuff like text overflow and untranslated name boxes. The best is a scene where the party is reassuring a character that they aren't useless, repeatedly saying stuff like "You're Rion Kugayama! You can do anything you put your mind to!" and "Rion Kugayama wouldn't let this get in her way!", but they keep misspelling the character's name as Rion Kaguyama consistently throughout the scene.

Depends on your difficulty choice and skill level. On the lower difficulties (or original versions) you can finish em in a couple days of on and off play probably in like 15-20 hours.

On the highest difficulty it really depends on your ability. I've heard of people going to as much as 45+ hours to get past certain bits like Dark Fact, or Vagullion.
