Just the tension of having tons of people around you and trying to survive is pretty intense

However the game has pretty serious problems after the initial rush - 3rd person massively favours defensive camping play, so moving is for suckers. Also the guns are incredibly, disgustingly unreliable. I have potato aim and usually get raped - but the last game i was in nearly everyone died in a couple shots really easy

Plus there have been other times i've put my sniper scope directly on a dudes head, who wasnt moving in anyway at about 200m and he's just shrugged it off then killed me with a rifle

I've tried to enjoy PUB-guh, I've really tried.

Solo seems to boil down to two factors: luck and the willingness to win at the expense of fun. When I've done the best, it's because I've been hiding on a roof, or waiting twenty minutes for the circle to close. Half the times I've died, I didn't know what it was that killed me. I merely heard bullets and died immediately.
I don't really learn from my mistakes when that happens. I'd kill for this game to have a killcam in solo play (where it couldn't be abused to tell teammates where enemies are hiding).

Team play is pretty fun in comparison, but it's because you're fucking around with friends and it's something that requires all of you to talk and be invested in a mutual aim.

I quite like the concept of the game, but it's imperfect. And not in a charming way, in a "I'd prefer not to waste my time" way. That's the thing that ruins it for me. The game is basically a choice between live hard and die (and repeatedly go to the menu, the plane, rinse, repeat), or live like a baby and die after 20-30 minutes. The ratio of doing shit and learning to doing nothing and dying is so low either way that I can FEEL myself wasting time playing it.

First some games will get simple mods/modes for it. Unturned, GTA5 Online etc.

Then EA, Activision, Ubisoft use their big devs teams to just shut down PUBG's content pipeline. EA could have a team at DICE launch with 5 big maps, and a ton of guns. That said, I think some of the charm of this series is grounded/slow gameplay. I can't really imagine Battlefield gameplay with this mode. Low TTK, no recoil. The optimization would be miles above though

All the rest have been rushed, clunky pieces of shit. The formula was always winning, which is why some of them got mildly popular. Just needed someone who actually cared about the game to be in charge.

Fun fact: games made by people who like games with gameplay in mind are usually better and make more money than games designed to make money first.

Publishers need to get behind developers that have passion instead of controlling them.
