Splatoon 2 should last you until you have enough money to buy a new game.
Mario + Rabbids has a set amount of play time an online game won't have.

If you like multiplayer shooters, get Splatoon. If you like single player xcom, get Kingdom Battle

I recommend getting both if you can afford it though

Both are good, but it depends on what you like.
Strategy = Kingdom Battle
Multiplayer Shooter = Splatoon 2

Is Splatoon much of an improvement on the original? I didn't love it, but I think that's mostly because you were forced to use the giant controller.

Rabbids probably has a better single player mode while Spaltoon is amazing online.

well if you're worried about the controller, don't be. you can play using split joycon, the joycon grip, or the pro controller with split being the best for gyro controls.

as a whole, it's not much of an improvement, but there is new maps, weapons, modes graphical improvements, and new single-player. they still managed to keep it fun though
