The reason why MGS4 gets so much hate is because of morons like you.

MGS4 is not a game full of fanservice. It's a game designed specifically to struggle against the idea of fanservice at all. It purposely shits on (sometimes literally, thanks to Johnny) the established canon because Kojima didn't want to make Metal Gear anymore and actively hated it.

You were probably a kid when it was in development, but he received death threats for not initially directing it, and reneged against the promise that MGS3 would be his final Metal Gear game (after reneging on the promise that MGS2 would be his final Metal Gear game).

Notice how Peacewalker and Phantom Pain are completely different from the previous 4 games in terms of thematic structure, mechanics (open-world/mission-based as opposed to linear, base-building mechanics) wise, and writing wise?

I don't think anything can really compare to Spore. It fucked its way to the most pirated game of 2008[citation needed?], despite having the latest DRM of the time. That same DRM also caused a class action lawsuit. Maxis was destroyed as well, Will Wright has surprisingly not killed himself yet.
