A lot of people grew up only hearing shit like that about Nintendo, those people are like 17 now. I would bet cash that 90% of the people that say that kind of shit never really played many Nintendo games to begin with, maybe had a gamecube or a wii as their first Nintendo console and just parrot shit they read online or watched on youtube to try and sound like they know what they're talking about.

The Wii U was one of the first Nintendo consoles I was able to buy day 1 because I finally had a stable income and wasn't struggling to get by, in the end I think I owned more fun games for the Wii U than any other Nintendo console I owned before it just because I finally had the cash, the only dissapointing thing about the Wii U in my opinion is that no one gave it a chance because they were still falling for the "REEEE NINTENDO HATES YOU" meme that the 'gaming' press has been pushing ever since Nintendo Directs started

Haven't you heard? VC is delayed because they're completely restructuring it.
You won't have to buy any of the games now, Virtual Console games are going to be set up on a netflix style thing where they just add more to the library each month, and as long as you pay the $20/year online sub fee you get access to all of them

Its not like the Xbox or Playstation thing where you only get access to games that were released while you were subbed either, you just get to play any games in the VC library regardless of when your sub starts.
I'm pretty hype for it, seems like a really elegant solution to the VC and $20/year isn't that bad just for the VC alone considering they wanted like $8 for a SNES game

We still don't know the full details, but I think $20 for a years access to every game they release on the VC instead of nearly $10 for each game individually is a much more elegant solution to the whole thing. That way you don't end up feeling like you're buying the game again for the 3rd time too. If they don't want to have purchases from the last few consoles carry over, this is a good way to make the VC feel fair

So while there's a Nintendo Switch thread open, can anyone tell me if it's better to use Ink Recovery Up or Ink Saver (main) for a sniper build in Splatoon 2? Is one head and shoulders above the other? I tend to not use my secondary (I use the sniper with the Ink Wall secondary, don't remember the name) so should that affect my decision? I'm getting kinda gud with the sniper but I think my gear is really holding me back.

On a side note, the gyro controls in the Switch controller are really good in my own opinion. They should make a port of Skyward Sword later on into the Switch's lifespan, just like they did with Wind Waker and Twilight Princess. Albeit there should be a mode where you can turn off notifications (like telling you how much a blue rupee is worth after every boot-up, and especially the companion trying to tell you shit)

You have to look at whether or not the weapon/sub your using has a long delay (time it takes the white portion of your tank to drain) before ink recovery can start after shooting. If there isn't a long delay, Ink Recovery Up. If there is a long delay, Ink Saver (main).

Well, for one while Hyrule Warriors didn't have much depth it had a metric shitload of content that could last someone years if they were a completionist, so it was kinda fun just to fart around with

Honestly, I'm pretty happy with Switch. Playing games like Sonic Mania on the go is the best. Recently played against a friend in Puyo Puyo Tetris while we were riding in the car with our buddies. We were on our way to a retro video game shop to compete in some tourneys.

You don't have to keep it plugged in but I'd say its worth keeping around if only for an occasional romp with Tropical Freeze, Xenoblade Chronicles X, Wonderful 101, Super Mario Maker, Pikmin 3, 3D World, Bayonetta 2 (and the best version of 1), and Smash

Hell, even some of the lesser games like Woolly World, NES Remix, NSMBU, or Captain Toad would be fun to revisit eventually.

If you look at the competition, its not as if the other consoles have huge expansive lists of amazing exclusives either, and as long as you have a decent PC, a few good exclusives is all a console needs and I personally feel like the Wii U has a fairly decent amount of fun exclusives to its name.
Sure its not as impressive as the SNES, but not many consoles are, and every gen consoles get less and less exclusives, this isn't an issue that the Wii U alone faces.

I just rented the new Uncharted from Red Box expecting to beat it in one day. Nice graphics despite only running in 1440p, 30 fps(PC Master Race here). Got bored with it and realized I wasn't going to be able to beat it in one day because it can't hold my interest. Decided to rent it through Gamefly instead so I have more time to beat it. Picked up Mario + Rabbids. Loving it so far. Having all the gaming platforms is nice.

The competitive game modes are balanced for 8 players, so it isn't ideal. Rain maker (inverted capture the flag) would probably work well enough 2vs2 though. Coop salmon run is very fun and intended for four people.
