No More Heroes was always sort of a niche series that kinda felt like a Nintendo IP in a way because it's so different. Which is why NMH:HP was a flop. NMH was always destined to be a cult hit then a wildly successful and well known one.

It's a very different kind of game that fits perfectly with an underrated and overlooked company like Nintendo and not with a wildly more popular "hardcore gamer" machine like playstation. Also I think it's fair to say the average sonybro would look at NMH and turn their heads.

NMH2 was better because you didn't have to fucking grind for money between every boss fight, plus no having to travel in a completely empty overworld. It also had better gameplay since you can now manually use devil trigger instead of it being completely random like in the first game, the only thing it lacks in comparison to the original is that the final boss isn't as cool.

Dolphin has wii-mote speaker emulation if using a legit Wii controller. Sound quality is hit or miss depending on the game but I recall NMH 1 sounding crispy enough

Dolphin. You'll pretty much need an actual Wii-mote for the first game but the second game had native Gamepad Pro support so you can map that one direct to a PS4/X1/360/Whatever controller.

Alternatively, NMH remaster on PS3 is fairly cheap on the net. I got a copy for less than 20 usd a few years ago and NMH 2 on Wii is literally 5 dollars at local second hand shops/Amazon in USA.
