What other content is actually worth doing outside of PvP?

Both are braindead combo classes. SAM was built specifically for the gamepad. I have not managed a single good combo setup that felt good juggling the 3 main combos with kb+m.

- fun in dungeons
- doesn't have to autistically remember a long rotation. but in exchange you still have to autistically remember everything in each fight
- aether manip is one of the most fun skills in the game
- adds replayability value because with BLM you have to relearn the fight
- skills have amazing impact and sound effects

SAM
- good, intuitive flow but isn't static
- 10s gap closer/disengage so it's mobile as fuck
- most other jobs build gauge up and blow it in one go after a while, so those still feel like glorified cooldown timers. SAM does it in smaller amounts and it feels more like an actual resource.
- damage boost + slow wind up to a gigantic dick hit is always the most satisfying shit you can do in a video game
- shinten is the most fun ogcd in the game
- never not have something to do. can generate dps during downtime, can respond to raidwide damage
- good aesthetics. many of the weapons aren't a bunch of spiky overdesigned shit. the mocaps are have weight and impact and some of the least flashy in the game. satisfying sound effects

I love DRG, was a DRG main all through Heavensward, but I switched to NIN for this raid tier.

I like NIN, but it's not as fun to me as DRG, I miss it.

There's also my bad positioning and my spilling spaghetti all over the arena whenever the boss jumps or teleports but that's a whole other issue.

Started the game as a whm, fell in love with healing (though I'll never ever touch sch). Got whm up to 70, now I'm getting an ast up to 60 so I can start on SB. This class is fun as fuck, bros. The job quests are nothing but skipped cutscenes because the characters are all boring as fuck but everything having to do with stars and constellations is cool. I love passing out buffs and taking time to plan out how I'm going to use each card I draw.

Took a while but I was finally able to quit, and looking back it was way overdue. What a fucking waste of time. Grind so you can grind for more grind, so you can 'play' more repetitive boring content so you can grind some more. Rinse and repeat with every fucking 'update', if you get lucky and even get actual content instead of shit like LoV.

That bland, repetitive, boring, soulless, limited outdated mechanic based sorry excuse for a game isn't worth anybody's time. Soken's talent is wasted on this shit, music is its only saving grace and it doesn't even deserve it.
It doesn't even have good presentation to save it - indie tier emote based cutscenes lol which is fucking irony for a game series that actually started and used to set the standard for graphics and cutscenes. And don't bring the it's not a mainline title excuse, that shit isn't called FF Online 2 or whatever.

Story only got good for a short while in HW, rest is trash and the writers don't even fucking care anymore (if they ever did). The Nanamo plotline, the fucking Scions, the Warriors of it's fucking nothing, you name it.

Story is shit, gameplay is shit, presentation is crap, overall game design is shit, community is the worst there is ... music is awesome. Why the fuck would anybody suffer through this crap ?

I hope you all someday realize it too and free yourself from this cancer. The sooner the better too. I would advise to go back and play any other game instead, that worked for me as I remembered what it's like to have actual gameplay and fun in a videogame, something I forgot even existed while I was stuck in the grasp of the crushing, unrewarding, soul eating experience that is XIV.

Do yourself a favor and disable automatic sub renewal, it might be hard at first but you'll be glad you did in no time.

The issue was more Susano Ex in particular and the fact that Mirage Dive had some absurd delay on par with 2.0 Jump. Dragon Sight had an arbitrarily short length. Besides that, even though we have zero indication of how DRG would play in Savage, people still whined and complained. Now every role is showing itself in the top 5-10 speedruns because SE actually knows how to balance the roles and all the doomsayers were btfo. We're in danger of another DRG/MCH/BRD/NIN comp though, if MCH whining keeps going on.

The enmity combo is literally just 10 more potency than the others. Given that the other ones either buff your attack power or fill your beast gauge faster you should generally only be using the enmity combo if you need enmity.

Oh and Lakshmi as well, both had extremely long phase transitions. DRG is the only melee that can't recover from a long transition. MNK takes no time at all to get back GL3 even without PB, NIN stocks their ninpo powers, SAM has meditate and is otherwise unaffected. Doesn't help that DRG is the weakest when going in dry.

Actually with the way the beast gauge works there's a point in your combos where if you use storms path youll have 10 extra beast gauge before berserk. Because of this one butcher's block combo is usually the most efficient combo to use before you storm's eye and go into the next berserk.

Do they really? Out of an enmity combo it's 150+200+280 = 630 total potency, while either of the other 2 is 150+190+270 = 610 potency.

So you're losing 20 potency out of it, which is a 3% damage loss or so? If you can build your gauge quicker for fell cleaves and the oGCD skill, isn't that better overall?

I just recently started trying out using a controller for this game after using KB+M forever and holy fuck I don't know how you guys do it. The control scheme is so damn awkward. It's just muscle memory. The time spent moving the cursor around pretty much evens it out for both. If bad comes to worse I have the mouse right in front of me. kb+m+c is the true master race

If it isn't used within 1 min, it means its saved for movement. That and Aetherial Manip. That's all you need. Compared to pretty much any other class, the role has so little variance in terms of execution that all you need is to know where to stand and when to use your buffs. It's not hard.

From my personal experience, I find using the BB combo to be more optimal than Storm Path because even though it is true that you get more BG, this also means you will cap Beast Gauge before Berserk goes off CD. This is a DPS loss imo as continuing any combo would overcap your BG, making it a loss, and using Meme Cleave would mean having to fill it up again, and having Berserk off CD and not using it is not optimal.

No role is fun pre-50 really. Solo wise, tanks have a decent amount of damage capability compared to other MMOs so you'll be pretty much untouchable for everything that isn't a dungeon/trial. A great bulk of the xp you'll get for your first or main class is from the main story quests, so the leveling difference for them isn't that big if you're going through it for the first time. Your lower leveled jobs get an xp bonus, and spamming dungeons is great xp, so some people recommend leveling a dps first, since power leveling a tank or healer after you're done with the MSQ is faster compared to a dps.

Just started leveling WAR for the first time since HW. Is Onslaught completely worthless? I can't see a reason I would use 20 BG on it over waiting for 30 more to use on something else. If it didn't have the BG cost it would just be a half-Plunge (half potency, half CD) and that would be fine. Gap closers are cool but not cool enough to take over Cleave or IB.

Initial impressions of it is that it's useless. Onslaught is a gauge spender that lets you get back to full after one combo if upheaval is on cooldown. For example lets say that the boss is about to move and you are about 8 seconds away from berserk being off cooldown and you have full gauge. You want to use onslaught to gap close, use a storms eye combo, then go into berserk.

This game is a disappointment. The combat feels the worst out of all the MMO's I've ever tried. It's clunky and stuff, and weightless and boring. The game has other things going for it, but this really kills it for me. This, and, as soon as I was an expansion behind, I had no more desire to try the game again seeing as I now had to buy the game again PLUS pay a subscription fee.

SCH generally is the strongest healer for speedruns, picked for most speedruns. AST is the favored partner. Not to say that WHM isn't weak, AST needs like a 30% aoe balance uptime to stay even with WHM. It's just that the short duration of the current fights, o3s already being like 7:30 lends itself well to a higher % of balance uptime with the double balance pull.

Its really easy. Tedious but easy. You get exp a lot faster than combat classes so you move up fast. You can gather just about anytime there's downtime. Waiting for queue, go gather. Dark Knight sounds fun, but I'm not really sure if it'll be what I'm looking for in a tank role. Opinions? Will it be worth using frequently once I unlock it?

DRG needs a rework entirely. The damage is fine but the playstyle is awful. I don't know how they thought being a Lancer with occasional jump skills was fun. At this point Samurai has the same effects as Jump but on the 10s cooldown instead of 1 min
