Fuck i missed that one. Actually i was doubtful about peoples actitude towards Prey, and seeing BotW as first candidate i was depressed as fuck.
Don´t get me wrong BotW is fun, but is not a 10/10 like the media says.

Only two major problems with this game:
1. They should never have given you the ability to endlessly manufacture neuromods. Neuromod licenses should've been scattered around the world, in finite numbers, just like neuromods. As is, a neuromod is by far the best use of your manufacturing options, provided you have enough shotgun ammo.
2. Absolutely everything is tagged as a side quest. This takes the soul out of exploration. The personnel locator system is great, probably the only good implementation of a quest compass in gaming.
Consider, for example, the quest with the derelict shuttle outside the station. When it's tagged as a quest, you're just following instructions. If it wasn't tagged, you could've just come across the shuttle because you saw it in the distance and decided to check it out; you could've found the audio log from the pilot, and decide to use the personnel locator to lock onto his signal and find the ship that way. Both of these would be awesome and would've made you feel great for finding the shuttle on your own. When it's a tagged quest though, it's just following directions(and almost every unique thing is tagged in some quest- the superfruit in the arboretum is another example).
Other than these two, I thought the game was pretty great. It pales next to System Shock 2 in most aspects, but you'd have to be delusional to not realize that this is the best attempt at the Shock formula since System Shock 2.

It's a good game. I'd say it's better to play than any of the other Shock games, System Shocks included (however I'd still say System Shock 2 is the best in terms of general influence on the video game landscape and innovation). Hopefully it gets more popular as it ages.
