Of course, it's up to you to decide whether or not you now consider Rabbids to be now part of the Mario canon as well as Rabbid Peach, Rabbid Luigi, Rabbid Yoshi and the fused bosses (Pirabbid Plant, Phantom, ect), who are now stuck in said Mario universe, said Mario canon being actually from a poster in the Rabbids' universe.

It wasn't really planking in Melee since he only did it on a flat floor. In Brawl you could use it as a taunt which allowed you to do it on ledges and small platforms.
