Its not exactly a series where every next game has better combat or some shit.
The games are 90% about the story.

Frankly i dont get why you would buy a brand new game at full price if you can buy the older games for cheap and then buy the new game on sale.

I was spoiled on DR1 by the anime and DR2 from reading the wiki and watching the executions on youtube, but I was still able to enjoy the games when playing them for myself.
