The Legion zones are so fucking painful to navigate. As far as I know one of the first and largest complaints about flying was the killing of wPvP, but that doesn't matter anymore because wPvP never fucking occurs, even when you're forced to walk on ground

I think the content WoW is pretty fair at the moment. There is so much shit to do in the game it's almost anxiety inducing. The only big fuck up they did throughout the xpac was make it a burden to play alts, and only now are they finally making it a little more bearable. The raids have been good and the updates have been frequent, the game is in a decent state, but it isn't amazing. One of my big gripes with Legion is how soulless it feels at the moment. A lot of that has to do with everyone being so fucking tired of these demons.

BC felt great because it was such an odd new world compared to Azeroth, it really felt like you were transported into a new, bizarre world.

Wrath felt good because the story was strong and there was this overwhelming feeling of hopelessness and despair in the fight against the Lich King. They did a great job setting the mood and tone of the world.

Cataclysm, although the content was pretty bad, gave us a revamp of the world which was enjoyable for a time, and there was this real fear of destruction surrounding the world.

Pandaria brought us a fun adventure and beautiful environments. It was like the opposite of Wrath in world design. I just wanted to spend all day on my farm relaxing.

Draenor has some decent zones, but the overall tone of the xpac was lacking. The quest changes and how streamlined they did it was nice though. Beyond that the entire xpac was shit.

Now Legion. Demonsdemonsdemons we have to stop the demons, everything is green, every demon remodel reused over and over again. The zones are meh, the tone is all chaos and panic. It just isn't a very fun atmosphere right now, despite the game having decent quality content.

The Naaru ship is clunky but there's a lot to explore and the new storyline is exciting. Big patches in between raid releases have done wonders for the game.

Yeah its a short quest chain to introduce you to the zone/get WQ started but going around kill rares/finding chests is what gets you 910 gear and I found an All-Seer's shrine, farmed up some eyes from that, turned it in for a unique portal that takes you to a different rare that I can farm daily now with friends.
If you just log in and do the quest and log in that's your fault, for all the people who miss "ye olden sandbox" days you should really run around more.

This will always be a problem because it's not fixable. Other games have 6-9 hour paid DLC. MMO patch content mostly has a similar length, and you can do it in a day unless they gate it.

When they don't gate it, people log on first day of patch, do everything then log off until next patch. FF XIV doesn't do time gating and you can do most of the content on day one, and what's left for month is a tedious repetitive, often time and weekly cap-gated grind for months.

Riot started to pump out characters, not because they added a new dynamic to the game but because they wanted people to pay for new characters. They also reduced the amount of game currency players received after every match several times. I remember getting 500 points of game currency per game back in the day.

I respect Riot trying to make money on their game but I was not the target audience for that type of manipulation so I stopped playing.

Alright here’s the most objective review you can find of Legion.

I’ve been playing WoW since the start. The only thing I regret in life is that I went PvP for MoP and didn’t get to experience the content. WoD rolled around and while people hated it, I think I kind of liked it since I played it casually more than anything. The environments I thought were beautiful and there was a cartoony look to everything that really fucking feels like WoW. The questing was very good too. I love Shadowmoon Valley and Frostfire ridge.

NOW LEGION ON THE OTHER HAND. What the fuck happened to all the originality? The zones are so fucking uninspired. I literally avoid Azsuna at all costs because of how dreadful it is. The questing feels bland and on track, the zones don’t feel like places. BUT, it is one of the only things I will hold against Legion because otherwise, I think it’s a great expansion. Lots of story going on, good characters, good raids. Unlike a lot of people here the only one I don’t like is Nighthold because I think the bosses suck, I cannot stand that Botanist and Gul’Dan’s mechanic is HE HITS HARD.

I don’t like artifacts, but I like the way they handle artifact skins. I’m having fun trying to unlock the Balance of Power skin. It’s a good way to keep your players occupied while doing all the content, and being a bear, show off that you were devoted enough to get this. If anything I think they’re subtly removing all AP grind from the game, and that’s a good thing. That was not a good idea and I can’t wait for the return of weapons.
Mythic Dungeons are a good idea. They keep things spicy even though some affixes together result in pure bullshit.
7.3 seems ok, I really don’t like the Time Gating, it’s gay as fuck and frankly it’s just kind of lame that they publicize so much new shit to then keep us from playing. At least put the new instance in, jesus.
