What is it about those class images that makes you want to open them and examine them more closely? Is it just my autism? I mean if you've seen one of those, you've basically seen all, but they're still strangely compelling for some reason. Also why are magic classes always more slutty than the others?

It invokes the feeling of games like FF: Tactics. You remember leveling up classes in those games and getting a fun or useful new ability. The different strategies and uses you can get out of each class, etc. That's usually the fun of games like that and the image obviously reminds you of them. It's helped along by the class names that definitely give you an idea of what they do but there are a few ways to interpret them and some very interesting things they may or may not do.
Because robes don't need to be as protective and cleavage is magic.
