1st has no animations on the drums but has 3d
2nd has custom song loading and 3d and some animations on the drums
3rd has 2d only and full animations on the drums and every song ever, but takes the most time to load.

bamco has done a lot of PC ports these days but i think taiko makes the most money by having a lot of slightly different versions for each platform, so it wouldn't be especially profitable for them.
PS4 will bring us USB drums but they're expensive enough you could get a wii and a chink tatacon for that money. also i hear the PS4 drum kinda blows.
