The second is effectively a less linear uncharted with a character you actually care about and less of the "witty" quips. Gameplay is solid, the side missions are enjoyable, however the side characters are not up to par.

There's less of a stark contrast in character, in the second game you're already well on your way to being The Lara, as opposed to in the first game where they tried a little too hard to make her this vulnerable girl that suddenly starts slaughtering everyone.
The levels are designed much better, and they've created these hubs which you make your home by accomplishing missions by the settlers and gathering supplies. It's really comfy.
The story is also more enjoyable, it's like a classic action movie with some twists (which you can see coming if you listen to the 'recordings), and the bosses are pure fun. DLC is highly encouraged too, but only if you can get the bundle in some cheap deal or like as I said in a repack of sorts.
Oh and it's 10x more beautiful than the first game.

A 1070 can barely manage Destiny 2 at 60 FPS on max settings.
The most demanding setting by far is the depth of field, turn that down to high (or turn it off) as opposed to highest and you'll see a boost from 40-50 FPS at 4k to 60+ FPS at 4k easily.
Pic related, even turning just DoF down to high and keeping everything else maxed out is enough to almost double performance on an RX 580.

In theory higher fidelity in graphics would make games more immersive because everything looks real and gameplay would improve because everything would be more sharp and clear. In practice the flaws in the game become glaring because they stand out more against the realistic backdrop and gameplay suffers immensely because everybody dumped a shitton of money into the graphics and want to play it safe.

In a higher plane of existence graphical fidelity is the most practical way to shill a game because the screenshots look pretty so that's what (((they))) push.

Xbox version still has lower draw distance, lower shadows, does not use VXAO, pure hair is slightly lower, lacks depth of field and a few other settings are lower as well.

This is not surprising since even a 1080ti dips into the 40s for frame rate at 4k max settings.
The Xbox One X has half the TFLOPS so there is no way it can compare to PC max settings.

The only thing I noticed on the Xbox One X version that the PC version doesn't have is the bloom on some of the scenes.

I can choose which peripherals I want to play with.
For example I can use an HTC Vive and G27 wheel set to play racing games like Project Cars.

I can also choose to play Zelda with an Xbox 360 controller or whatever controller I want.

I can get better download speeds. I canedit video footage.
I also have better modding ability in games.
Skyrim doesn't even look like the same game anymore and is vastly better.

Yup emulation runs fine at 4k and 30fps.
The original game is 30fps and you can try running at 60fps but the game just runs at twice the speed.
They will probably get it to run at 60fps eventually.
The recently got the tablet mode working so the game can be played through from start to finish with no issue.

All of these games with amazing character models end up having mediocre-looking environments.

I would have to disagree with that. Infinite Warfare is a gorgeous game with some incredible scale and conveys itself with no loading screens. Clever transitions keep the player in the game while giving it time to prep the next area or scene.

I still haven't decided if the cutscenes that are video clips are CGI or pre-rendered in-engine. Something about them has a CGI quality but the little details make them seem pre-rendered in the game.

I definitely fucked up, I liked the old Gamescom 380s I had and my dad didn't feel like switching brands (since he also had the same brand), so I pulled the trigger on 2.
The quality is meh and the surround sound is worse than my $12 earbuds, and I've had awful luck with USB headsets since the last 3 I've had have had these annoying audio popping issues regardless of the machine I use them on.
