I somehow beat Ludwig with it at +6 while I was exercising. I'd say it's pretty good in itself.

But honestly I feel like the one-handed mode is the way to go, the two-handed mode is pretty clunky.

A good rationale for the interbreeding is the "Quickening" skill. The Pthumerian Elder/Descendent bosses can teleport around the boss arena.

The only others who can do this are Maria, the Bloody Crow, and Gehrman, though the Bloody Crow has to use the actual item rather than having it innately. Maybe if you're half Pthumerian you have access to such a skill.

This. It's possible that some Pthumerians left the dungeons, interbreeded with people living in or near to Cainhurst. Maybe their existence as "Vilebloods", which seems to come across as a slur, only came about after the scholar came to them.

Blood is the medium between material/thought, and if it was just your blood reacting independently I'm not so sure your Frenzy meter would shorten with increased Insight. I think you're more right than you are wrong though. Being able to see more of your own blood memories through Insight might make yourself more vulnerable to cursed thoughts, manifesting as those bloody spears.

I always interpreted things as true Cainhursts are descendants of interbreeding with Ptumerians.
Vilebloods are a derogatory term given to Cainhursts after a scholar brought blood from Byrgenwerth to them, and they started drinking the blood of other people straight.
I feel like the blood 'normal' people drink or inject is all prepared and filtered, and the 'Vilebloods' injected themselves with some sort of unusual blood, and then took to taking the blood right out of people and drinking that without any filtering or modification.

The Cainhurst Nobility definitely has Pthumerian roots, but they're probably a branch family or something similar. Drinking blood has been their family tradition since before the introduction of Pthumerian blood from the Labyrinth. This probably diluted their blood, which is antithetical to Pthumerian methods, which concentrated on incestuously drinking their own bloodline to the detriment of their civilization.

It follows that a family obsessed with nostalgia would want to reawaken that quest, which is why Queen Annalise' goal is the Child of Blood.

Mergo cannot die, but it really can't live either. The ultimate goal of the Pthumerians was the creation of something completely on one side of the material/immaterial plane, which is why the kid is a fucking inert blood rock. Even when the entirety of Yahargul is sacrificed for its resurrection, it still requires the presence of a Great One to feed it. Killing it just moves it back to the Labyrinth, where it belongs.

If they were to make a Bloodborne 2 I'd like them to keep the rally/parrying mechanics but take it to a whole different area storywise. They could still have a wacky set of Great Ones but give them completely different motivations. Don't have another religious/goverment organisation that's actually evil or misguided etc. Yharnam is but one city, we have no idea what the rest of the world is like.

I want to clarify something with the lore. The game takes place in the hunter's dream. Judging one of the endings, you wake up if you die in a specific way which stills confuses me a little. The real world is more or less tamed while the hunter's dream is batshit insane. Those with the ayy blood has a ticket in entering the hunter's dream while those who don't will not know that the hunter's dream exist or the very least, can't enter. The places and things you see are modified version of the real world.

That all said, what happens to some NPCs if they die? For example, when Father Gascoigne and his family dies, do they wake up or are they dead and/or stuck in the hunter's dream? Also, since we're in a dream, this means that you have two bodies, one in the dream and one sleeping in the real world right? The ending in which you waked up clarifies this right?

The implication is that the event of the night (that didn't happen in a dream like the Nightmare of Mensis, the Chalice Dungeons and the Hunters Nightmare) all actually did happen, as the Moon Presence prevents the night of the Hunt from ending until either all the beasts are dead or the source of them (in this case Mergo) is dead/gone. The Dreams themselves are just alternate realities that can only be accessed at certain times by certain people while they are asleep. Gascoigne and his family are dead, for example, but your care for the Doll keeps her alive, despite her only being alive in the Dream.

The revs give an insane multiplier for the arcane damage, on my 20str/50arc character with an proper arc gems (not the flat arcane damage ones, flat damage doesn't get the multiplier) it hits four about 1000 damage in pvp with a regular R1

If it makes you feel better, PS4 by now has a good library. Bloodborne is gonna run you 25-30 as a Souls veteran, another 8 for DLC (which is the hardest content in the game by far) not counting chalice dungeons. It's very procedural like the others and you will get into the swing of things the more you play. When I fire it up I can do an all boss all pickups run including DLC (no chalice dungeons) in just under 14 hours.

Everything that I've read is that you have to sign a contract to enter the Hunters Dream. Everything happening in the game is real but there's alternate realities that are created by select Great Ones.

To back this up Eileen and that dude down in Central Yharnam both talk about how they've been in the dream before and that one day you will wake up from it too.

So basically you travel to Yharnam, sign a contract to get the blood to heal your disease. That contract connects you to the hunters dream. Since you're connected to the dream you can use/see the lanterns and they allow you to travel through space. The Moon Presence accepts you and has Gherman point you in the direction of Mergo and the Wet Nurse. If you accept Ghermans offer to kill you in the Hunters Dream he basically makes you wake up since you've completed your contract.
